So my family have a massive film collection. In between studying and reading and writing, I want to watch at least 50 films from this collection before the year is over. Re-watches do not count. Films will range from recently released to all time classics, so it will be awesome :)

Lots of options, I'll probably decide just before I watch it, depending on my mood. Right now I'm leaning towards Steve McQueen's Shame

Looooooove that movie Jess!! One of my all time faves, and ever since I first saw it I vowed I would go to Bruges one day! It looked so beautiful and inviting....It's still on the cards :D
When I do I will post a picture of me on that footbridge!
Hahaha Julie it looked delightful! "It's a fairytale town, isn't it? How's a fairytale town not somebody's f***ing thing?"

 13. Looper (2012). Yes!!! This rocks so hard
      13. Looper (2012). Yes!!! This rocks so hard 14. Capote (2005). It was ok, Phillip Seymour Hoffman really is the best though

17. The way way back (2013). I love Sam Rockwell
18. Moon (2009). Sam Rockwell x2. Deserved an Oscar nom for this
19. City of God (2002). Beautifully made, though confronting
20. Signs (2002). Wasn't too bad.
21. Captain America (2011). Meh. Started well but disappointing final act
22. Boogie Nights (1997). Brilliant ensemble cast, terrific direction
23. The Kings of Summer (2013). Lovely indie coming of age film

Hahahah love it! "How can f**cking swans not f**cking be somebody's f**cking thing eh? How can that be!?!"
Moon is another of my favourites, only watched it this year - so good! I wasn't sold on him in general from stuff I'd seen him in but god he proves himself in that.

I watched an animated movie last night that I hadn't watched for years. It is simply titled 9 (2009)... a brilliant movie, as I am sure those who have watched it will agree.

31.Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003). Technically a rewatch, I was too young to appreciate this the first time. Awesome.

Uni makes this hard, though I haven't updated this in a while. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything!

34.Shaun of the Dead (2004). "...Go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over." Not the masterpiece people make it out to be, but very entertaining.
35.Zodiac (2007). Watching the David Fincher movies I haven't yet seen. Slow and flawed, but a solid piece of filmaking. 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' worked perfectly in the soundtrack.
36.The Game (1997).Probably my least favourite Fincher. Fantastic start but went down hill.
37.A History of Violence(2005). A rare occasion where I watched a film having no idea what to expect.
42.Batman Begins(2005). First time I've watched it in full. Would love to see more of Cillian Murphy.

Dunno if you've seen 28 Days Later, but Cillian is in that too. Such a unique looking bloke. Inception, too.

Nice work, Jess. As a total film nerd, myself, I fully endorse this challenge and look forward to your thoughts on whatever you watch next.

I loved the Batman film with Heath Ledger as the Joker. What an incredible Aussie actor. I still miss his brilliance.

Really underrated film that one. Like Truman Show, shows Jim Carrey can pull off dramatic roles really well.

45.The Royal Tenenbaums(2001). It had its moments, but Im beginning to think Wes Anderson is hit or miss.

Eh, Inception was really good I thought. Same with the Dark Knight Trilogy - I hear Memento is fairly polarising though.
Don't get me wrong, I like Nolan. I think he does some great stuff. Inception is great and so is Dark Knight. It's just that everyone talks about him like he's the greatest director working today and everything he makes is a masterpiece. Look at the IMDB top 250 list. He has 3 movies in the top 15. I mean pls, he does some good things, but he isn't the filmmaking genius people would lead you to believe.

Haven't yet seen Life Aquatic, but I think there's a huge gap between Tenenbaums/Darjeeling Ltd and Moonrise Kingdom/Grand Budapest Hotel for example.
