Resurrection http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2647586/It's a remake of the French TV series, The Returned which aired on Sundance last summer. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2521668/?...
So far, just one episode in and Resurrection is much better than The Returned. I don't usually like remakes and was fully prepared to think it inferior. I was soooo wrong. This was a fantastic premiere episode. It was very emotional, some part brought tears to my eyes. One complaint: after the DNA test, the next thing I'd do is open that crypt and see if the Jacob's body is in there. I don't know if it'll mean anything, but just out of curiosity I would have to do that. I can't believe no one said anything about it, I mean, Marty the Fed was right there with the kid's father. How did that not come up?

So fa..."
Hmmm...I didn't know this was a remake of "The Returned." But, anyway, about finding the boy's DNA, I actually thought that they were going to open up the grave to see if it really is that little boy's body. But, I guess we'll see that in the next episode!

OK. I didn't know if I should mention any spoilers from it. Suffice it to say that it had no resolution, no reason why it happened, no checking DNA, an unsatisfying ending, it was weird. I wasted six hours of my life. You didn't miss anything by not seeing it. Resurrection is so much better, just in this first episode it's already so much better.
I have The Returned in my list of streaming shows to watch on NetFlix. However, so far, it reminds me of the French "zombie" film They Came Back, but that was RECENTLY dead people. I wasn't real fond of it. Slow moving. Very understated and anti-climatic ending.
What mysterious man? Yes, it looks like Barbara is back, and she chose to be with the bald guy. Gonna make that sheriff more of a dick than he already is. I don't know why he's such a jerk, the worst news about his wife is already out. Or is there more?
I wish they showed what was in Jacob's coffin. That was disappointing.
What is the deal with those parents not letting their kids play with Jacob? What do they think will happen?
I forgot to ask last week, if Jacob is dead for 32 years, how did he know how to use apps on a cellphone? When he wrote the name of the town on Bellamy's phone.
Jackie wrote: "What mysterious man?"The man who claimed to be the girl's daddy (I forgot her name, but I remembered the brother didn't trust the fact that their dad came back the dead).
OK, Caleb, I think. I thought I missed something at the end. He's definitely shady, the son has it right to be suspicious.
Hey, just thought I'd dive into this conversation since my head is glued to the tube every week watching Resurrection. I've seen every episode, but I don't recall Barbara coming back (that's the sheriff's wife, right?) And what bald guy? One episode I missed the ending when Caleb got arrested. Is that the episode Barbara returned on? I thought only three were back so far, Jacob, Caleb (who vanished into thin air), and Rachel.
Barbara's 'return' is inferred, not actually shown. It was the episode where her daughter, the doctor, when to see the man Barbara had the affair with. When he went into the house, he said something like 'they found us', I can't remember exactly what was said but it was obvious that it had to be Barbara he was talking to.
This show is getting a bit interesting (even thought the pacing is a little slow). I like to see what all these resurrections are all about and what plan is being conjured up regarding all of these people.

Did anyone watch the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie this Sunday. It replaced Resurrection (this week only) I thought it was pretty good. I would have liked seeing the couple spend more time searching for each other and spending more time together. Then again, not a lot of time available in a 2hr TV movie. Any, way, I can't wait for Resurrection to return!
I enjoyed the Hallmark movie, but a lot of time could have been saved if they had simply introduced themselves with first AND last names. :)
Last night's segment of Resurrection was goooood! When that guy walked into the police station wearing dated clothes I knew he was back from the dead. Love the line "What year is this?" I can't wait to see the next episode! (why does it have to end for the season so soon?!)
Awesome episode. We also learned they can be re-resurrected.With all the new resurrected, there will have to be a ramped up government intervention. The medical aspect will also be a big game changer.
Although, if they base a vaccine or whatnot on the blood, would it become useless if the resurrected person disappears?
I thought the same thing with the vaccine or whatever treatment they devise. It's obvious since Caleb's blood disappeared right along with him, it'll render the treatment ineffective when that person disappears. The docs are obviously a bit dim, lolSo if Rachel re-resurrected, why didn't Caleb? Or was it different because he didn't actually die? Or did he? Did he disappear like a magic trick, or did his atoms scatter?
Still a great ep.
I thought we'd have a few more episodes, it does seem really fast.
"It’s getting mighty crowded in that town of Arcadia, Missouri, what with all those previously deceased people who insist on showing up, thanks to Resurrection. And the Langston family better make some more room around the old dinner table when Dad, Henry (Kurtwood Smith) already getting used to the idea his son, Jake (Landon Giminez) has returned from the beyond, comes face-to-face with his resurrected mother, Margaret (Michelle Fairley: Game of Thrones; 24: Live Another Day). Which must have been quite a feat, since she died pretty horrifically in her last two series.
Margaret, who has been gone (I’m running out of euphemisms for ‘not-living’) for 30 years, is the holder of many Langston family secrets (What? You didn’t think this would be easy did you?) and rumour has it she’s about to become Lucille Langston’s (Frances Fisher) worst nightmare. Mothers-in-law. What are you gonna do?
The second season of Resurrection will premiere Sept. 28 at 9 PM on ABC, sandwiched in between Once Upon a Time and Revenge."

So far, I'm really enjoying the premise of this show and I can't wait to see what more will happen with this show!
