I need to grab a copy of this. I'll have to shoot to the library next weekend.

Lucy Mason (lmason17) I've just ordered a copy of this - it should be with me by the end of the week, ready to start by the 15th!

How fun!

I've added it to my amazon wish list and will check the kindle price regularly for the next 5 days to snap up the best price ;)

I just checked the library and I should have a copy by this Saturday.

How's the kindle price looking Vicki?

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

It's still at £4.99 but I'll keep checking it and buy it Saturday morning if needs be!

Are we all excited about our first group read?

Lucy Mason (lmason17) My copy of this book arrived yesterday - yep, I am definitely excited! Got a book and a half to get through first, but I'll be good to go on this way before the end of the group read deadline :)

I've only read to page 66, but I'm already struck by the grief of the families. (view spoiler)

Sabrina Know this crime well, although I have not read this specific book. I'll grab a copy & join in! Little late, but I'll read fast. :)

I'm finding that the short bios of the girls are tending to run together. However, I do think it's important that each victim gets acknowledged and recognized for the person she was. There are so many commonalities among these young women!

Sabrina [spoiler?] Most common denominator among them being prostitution, often the victims of choice, because they are commonly runaways that are rarely missed. So sad.

Sabrina Picked this up late. On page 88 so far. I must admit I was under the mistaken impression his victims were ALL prostitutes. Sorry ladies!! Ann Rule has a very detailed style, but her books are never slow.

I still haven't managed to pick this one up! Sorry guys I've dropped the ball this month and only finished a few books. Not a great month for me! Hope everyone is enjoying the the read though.

Sabrina The detailed background of each victim is wonderful. It is so sad that too often the victims become numbers & the killer becomes a legend. That being said, I really like how she is including the background of the killer while still withholding his identity. Adds suspense.

Sabrina It is amazing he managed to elude police for nearly two decades. Amazing, but terrifying.

Sabrina Anyone interested in a side read about Bundy (the forward is by Bob Keppel), pick up "Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer" by Michaud & Aynesworth. Verbatim interviews they had with Bundy. Very graphic & disturbing at times, but a real insight into the mental evolution of a serial killer.

Sabrina Anyone else catch the Biography special on Gary Ridgway last night? Dave Reichert, Haney & a few other members of the task force were in it too.
