It is possible they are pre-ISBN. If you don't find one on the back cover, you can check the back pages and the front copyright page.I think, ISBN usage started in the 70's. I'm sure someone here has a more exact timeframe as to when their usage caught on.
The problem is that I have not the books here (I've moved in an island and the books are in my old house) so I can't check the covers...

Is it possible the ISBN is a different kind of number?

The publisher and date of publication were known to me because I've read these two books for my master, so I just checked the bibliography that I had used.
Then, I looked for the books in the site of National Library of France and I found this: http://catalogue.bnf.fr/servlet/bibli...
where we can also see how many pages each tome has. But no clue for the ISBNs, or maybe I do something wrong.
The publisher is Union générale d'éditions, collection 10/18 but I don't know if there is a publisher website. I've only found this site: http://www.10-18.fr/site/page_accueil...
but I don't know if it's the right one and I can't find the books or the author in there...
The official ISBN standard wasn't published until 1970. It wasn't widely adopted until the middle of the 1980's. Therefore, it is quite possible these books don't have one. These books are also old enough that it is highly unlikely the publisher would still list them.

It looks like you have added all the information you have, which is fine. If you are able to get to the books later you can update it then. Or others may add more information later.
I moved the "coll. 10/18" to the edition field. Other than that everything you did looks fine to me.
Ok! When I go to Thessaloniki where is my family house, I'll definitely check! But this may take a year!

Gallimard, coll. Folio, but only: P.U.F. or Gallimard?
Thanx to all!
It if it takes a year or more that's fine. Adding what you had is better than nothing.

We need to find an acceptable source for the covers. The current ones need to be removed since they came from a non-approved source.

What do u mean? That they are not the right ones? I know the books and the covers are right. I don't think that we can find them somewhere else..

I'm not saying that the visual on the cover itself is incorrect. I'm saying the source used is not allowed by Goodreads.

From Goodreads guidelines:
Adding book cover images
Acceptable sources for cover images include author and publisher websites, library sites, and various other public archives. We cannot legally use any cover images from booksellers, with the exception of Amazon. Since Amazon has purchased Goodreads, their covers may now be used on Goodreads as well.
An individual user's scans or photos, taken of books they own or have in their possession, are also an acceptable source for cover images.
I see, u mean that we don't have tha right to use the cover of a book that someone is selling on the internet. Ok, but my supervisor had lent me the books in 2005 and I have them photocopied, so I can't really scan the original covers. I think we won't be able to find them but I wouldn't like leaving them empty.

can you use your camera phone to take a picture of it. It might be high quality enough to work if its the right phone.

No I can't cause as I wrote above "my supervisor had lent me the books in 2005 and I have them photocopied, so I can't really scan (or take a picture of) the original covers". :-(

Or is it black and white, or really different from the original?

Yesterday evening,I added two books:

My problem is that I can't find anywhere the ISBNs of those two books. That means that they don't have one or that I don't search in the right place?
