Heavens, that is amazing! I seem to be starting lots of series, or continuing with old series I started years ago rather than ploughing through a series.

I think stupid rather than amazing Jo!! I set myself a hell of a challenge and really struggled with it at one point. Some of the earlier Anne Rice books were quite a slog. I'm now down to mainly Rebus novels, which are thankfully quick, easy and enjoyable reads.

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Rebus, good grief, lots of those.

message 108: by [deleted user] (new)

I've 17 on my list and I've read 11 or 12 of those. I noticed he's brought another out but I'm ignoring it....

message 109: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry, 18 Rebus novels on my list. The new one is number 19. I will read it, but possibly not this year!!

Thanks all. Onto the 6th Thursday Next book now, The Woman Who Died a Lot. Aiming to finish this series this week

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

I've just finished the latest in the Philippa Gregory 'Cousin's War' series, which is another series off my list and leaves me with 8 books to read to complete the challenge.

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

So that is next week sorted then?

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

Ha ha! might be a little longer - I'm going off-challenge and reading a Murakami novel next

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

I now have half an Anne Rice novel and two Rebus novels to complete the challenge. It's looking as though I will complete the ludicrously huge challenge I set myself :)

I lowered mine by five in the end as I had slightly overdone it!

message 120: by [deleted user] (new)

I knew 48 was a bit steep but thought I'd see how I got on.

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished the last Rebus book this afternoon, completing this series challenge. I'm really pleased to have managed it as I thought I might have struggled with 48 books on this one!

Well Done Charlotte! I have one more to go. And it is 600 plus pages.

message 124: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you both!

good luck with your last one Paul!

message 125: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments You are better peeps than I. I chose a trilogy that 3rd book was due to be published in summer. Now postponed til Jan. I had already changed my choice due to library pressures. Gave up and went for magic square challenge instead. Great that others persevere.

message 126: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments That's hugely impressive Charlotte, well done! I have five left to go once I've finished my last magic square book so that's my reading sorted from now till New Year.

message 127: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks.

I did the magic square too. I think I got too excited with the challenges this year!! I may have to calm down for next year

Will you be able to though Charlotte?

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

I doubt it, but I don't know what the challenges are yet!! ;)

message 130: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I think we should have t-shirts for completing the challenges.

message 131: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments You can have one printed yourself. It would be great to walk down the road and someone say something like " Goodreads? Who are you? How are you doing on other challenges etc etc" I lead a sad and empty life of course.

message 132: by Sandy (new)

Sandy | 458 comments I want a t-shirt !!! When I tell my husband I have eight books to read by New Year, or anything about the challenges he just rolls his eyes.lol I have deadlines to keep!

message 133: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Haha I think I have started something here. Book Viper merchandise.

message 134: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod

message 135: by Sandy (new)

Sandy | 458 comments A coat? nah, I have one. He he

Just started the last book in my series challenge today and I'll be done. But there are shenanigans afoot. Although there are 37 books in my series challenge bookshelf and 37 showing on my challenge in the group, the group challenge is telling me I have 2 books to read still. :/

click on the view books link, as it sometimes takes a while to update

message 138: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 492 comments Mod
Yes, I've been viewing my books but it's been behind by one book for at least a couple of months now - since I first noticed. :/

message 139: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 492 comments Mod
Ah I've just worked out why it is. I read one of them before the timeframe of the challenge. Taken that one out.

message 140: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
At least you have solved it now Catherine. One more to go for me

message 141: by [deleted user] (new)

How's everyone getting on? Not long to go now!!

message 142: by Cathy (new)

Finished Boxing day.

message 144: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 359 comments On my last one, started yesterday. It's 550 pages though, so touch and go if I'll finish by the end of the year!

message 145: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
I can extend it by a week or two if necessary

message 146: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Come on Pamela you can do it, will it help if Paul dresses as a cheerleader and cheers you on with his pom-poms?

message 147: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 359 comments I am tempted to say yes :) Maybe best to keep that idea in reserve if tonight's reading doesn't go well.

message 148: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck Pamela!

message 149: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments Sending you virtual rah-rahs and pom-poms Pamela. You can do it!

message 150: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments If you finish a bit late. So what? You have died trying....death must be better than a man dressed up as a cheerleader
