If you are a fan of audiobooks (or even if you aren't!) look for the version narrated by Jeremy Irons; it is amazing. His voice might pull you through the "slow" bits -- so wonderful, poetic and so creepy!

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is a great book. Worth the while. Hope you enjoy it.

Wow!!! I'm so JEALOUS!!! I read this long ago before I started on the lists, and it is absolutely my favourite book of all time. I've read it several times since, but wish I still had the thrill of that first time! It's very Monty Python styled humour in my opinion! x
