I know Chris is distant but I don't think he does it to be nasty, that's just who he is. The fact he spends so much time alone but goes home to Beth at the end of it all makes me think he really loves her. (hide spoiler)]

I agree, it's very unrealistic in the sense that nobody would write as much in emails as these girls do. It would make more sense to talk on lunch breaks etc. like normal people.

Finished! (view spoiler)[ I found this to be an okay read, I liked the ending but it didn't really tell us much about their relationship now. I think it would have been better if Beth found out about him reading the emails like half way through the book so we could get a feel for them as a couple. (hide spoiler)]
