Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Oh I was gonna say too Addy I think I'm in the same boat as you with Stephen King I have about 50 of his books & probably only read 10 of them maybe 15 so if you ever want to read any of them I'm all for it too.

Terry | 5367 comments I wondered the exact same thing about the creature since they mentioned the hand being messed up

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Ohh yea I totally forgot about his hand was messed up too.

message 104: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments And I think your theory on the scientists and the hand makes sense, too. We should find out pretty quickly

message 105: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I enjoy Stephen King also. Just finished reading It before starting this one.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea It was my first King book I ever read even for being so long with 1000 pages it was a great book. I enjoy King I have a lot of his books it's just most of his are so long that after a couple I have to take a break & read some shorter books from sitting on one for so long

Addy | 5114 comments We'll need to do a buddyread of a SK novel. I have so many! How long did it take u to finish IT? That's a pretty hefty book.

message 108: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments It definately was a marathon read. It took me about 4 weeks, which for me was pretty fast. I would enjoy a buddy read on one of his books, too

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea it took me about 8-10 days on that one but I was reading like a 100-120 pages a night just to finish it quick maybe if I took my time with it I wouldn't have feel so agitated lol but yea whenever you guys would want to do a buddy read with a King or Bachman book I'm all for it just throw me some suggestions on which books you might want to read by him

message 110: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments I'm up for anything. I've only read The Dome, The Shining, and its sequel. I've also got a few of his wife's books. Anyone read any her stuff yet? I've tried reading NOS by his son but couldn't finish it. I just don't think I was in the right mood.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea I read the first like 100 pages in that NOS book it seemed ok but I didn't buy it & I read his wife's first book she wrote which was wild!! I actually still have not read the Shining or Doxtor Sleep yet I still have to. I loved The Dome that book was awesome.

message 112: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Cool! Are u watching the series? It's way different but still pretty good. What was the name of her first book?

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I didn't know they had a series?! I def have to check that out!! & I forgot the name of the first book I'll look sometime tonite to figure out the name I have a lot of books. It was with the girl with the hairy armpits lol do you know which one I'm talking about? Lol

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I was probably going to read The Dark Half or The Long Walk for my next King book but not too sure yet

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I was probably going to read The Dark Half or The Long Walk for my next King book but not too sure yet

message 116: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Is it called Small World? That's the one I have. It looks bizarre. I actually have The Bachman books and read Rage already. The Long Walk is next, so I'd read that one. Have u read that one Terry?

message 117: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I have not read The Long Walk. Haven't looked at it before, I assume it looks good? I have The Running Man and Insomnia on my book pile, as well as NOS, but wasn't really pushing for them. Haven't looked at his wife's books.

message 118: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Yes. It's suppose to be really good. Search it on GR. I also have Running Man, but not Insomnia.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I think I have Insomia but not Running Man. I have a lot of King books gotta double check. But yea The Ling Walk is suppose to be really good I definitely suggest picking it up if it sounds like it interests you.

message 120: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I searched for it and it sounds interesting. I would read that one. Insomnia sounds interesting, but it's another big one. I forgot I had Night Shift and Cujo on my stack, too.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I have Night Shift but never read it. I read Cujo that was another one of my first King reads also.

message 122: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Cujo...I have that one. I try to watch the movie every Halloweenish. I love the movie!

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Have either of you read Nick Cutter's book The Troop? It's one of my favorite horror novels. If you guys haven't self suggest that one.

message 124: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I watch that one each Halloween season also, amongst many others. I've had some others tell me the movie is actually better than the book. I was going to read it eventually anyway.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I like both but I don't know IMO I think that books are always better than the movie versions. I have this book mark that says "Never Judge a Book By Its Movie" lol

message 126: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments True statement there! I have read The Troop. Fantastic read!

message 127: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I agree. I can only think of one or two movies I thought were better than the books, and that was mainly because they went so far off the story that they really ended up as a different story. I've not heard of the Troop, but I'll look it up.

message 128: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments I thought it was compared to Stephen Kings Carrie with how it was set up. Still haven't read that one yet either.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea I thought The Shining movie was pretty good I just feel with horror if you don't have a descent budget to put into it then it's not gonna come out as great. & yea it is Addy you gotta read The Deep too it's really good maybe better than the Troop.

message 130: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I just read Carrie earlier this year and am glad I did

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea I heard that Carrie was his influence for writing like that. & yea I have Carrie & never read that one either lol

message 132: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Yes, been wanting to read The Deep but don't want to shell out the money, lol. I'm already paying for the kindle unlimited deal. I'll see if i can find it somewhere else.

message 133: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Yes, been wanting to read The Deep but don't want to shell out the money, lol. I'm already paying for the kindle unlimited deal. I'll see if i can find it somewhere else.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Lol oh tell me about it I payed $25 for the hard copy. Should of just waited for the soft copy lol there so much cheaper & easier to bring around with you.

message 135: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Nice!! Yeah, I prefer paperbacks myself. Sometimes I feel ridiculous lugging around a hardback but aren't they worth more? You can probably make a bigger profit with a hardback as long if it's in good condition. I keep telling myself I can make some money one day out of my outrageous collection. Well, it's a dream anyway;)

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Lol I know what you mean I have sooo many paperbacks mainly all horror but I love my collection I don't know if I would ever want to sell them I even have some double and triple copy's of some lol

message 137: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments Ditto for me. Tons of both on my bookshelf that I'll probably never get rid of. Seeing them there reminds me of reading them!

message 138: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Lol. Sometimes I wonder if I'll even live long enough to read every single book I have! Sorry, morbid thought there, but it's true. I have the hardest time deciding what to read.

message 139: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I hear that, and I bet you read twice as fast as I do! I always struggle picking what to read - it's a big decision when you figure the time commitment. Whatever I plan on reading next, I change my mind when it actually comes time to pick, and I'm usually surprised. Monstrosity is a good example, and glad I went with it!

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Lmao that's exactly how I am!! I think I spend a hour maybe 2 just picking out what I want to read then I'll always have about 5-6 choices and go back & forth and i feel that's the worst part of reading is actually picking a book & sticking with it when you have so many good choices.

message 141: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments Me too! Finally made it to part 3. Yay!

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Oh nice I stopped at chapter 12 to wait for you & was just finishing up the Cellar. I'll probably start the Beast House tomorrow

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments There are some books I even saved to read for around Halloween time & Christmas time lol books that go with the seasons I guess lol

message 144: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I made it to the end of chapter 11, but hadn't started 12 yet.

message 145: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars

Terry | 5367 comments I'm wondering now if Adam knows what is going on also.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea I finished 11 & stopped at 12

message 147: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 5114 comments I do the same thing. I save books for the seasons too. So much more fun that way. I think I'm gonna stop at 11 for now and hit the hay. You'll have to tell me what u thought of The Cellar. The Beast House, I think, is better.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments I don't know I feel like Adam suspects something, but doesn't know what exactly yet. Or he could know & could possibly be in on it. Maybe the plan is to get Clare to believe him in to set up a trap? A lot of different things could happen at this point.

Adamus (Like Adonis, but with a M) | 806 comments Yea it's definitely fun that way. I have Christopher Golden's Snowblind that I have been dying to read but I wanted to wait until Christmas time lol but maybe I'll end up reading it sooner lol but yea as soon as I'm done I'll def let you know & we can pick back up on Monstrosity tomorrow have a good it's Addy!!

message 150: by Terry (new) - rated it 3 stars
