Beorn (bsceadugenga) | 227 comments Thread is about https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

1) Though it is part of a series on the 'Kings and Queens of England' (as referred to on the rear flap), it is not part of the title, ie see another book in the series https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
So the title should be changed to 'The Life and Times of William I' (as the submitter also left out the 'The' from the beginning)
2) The ISBN needs adding - 0297765507
3) Also, as she is credited on the cover, I believe Antonia Fraser warrants adding to the authors section with the role of 'Editor'

Ren | 688 comments Looks like this is a duplicate because the ISBN 0297765507 is already taken by another edition of the book, I've asked the superlibrarians to merge. Title will also be fixed. As for the editor, I believe GR policy is to only credit editors for anthologies and not for single-author works.

Beorn (bsceadugenga) | 227 comments Well, Antonia Fraser is a well known author of history books so that'd be my argument for it, especially when there's some listings on here with individual contributors (out of a dozen or so) credited. Two wrongs dont make a right though so I won't force the issue.
If it helps, the edition I took the ISBN from is a Book Club Associates release which may or may not be the same version as the listing which just mentions the publisher BCA licensed it from.

Beorn (bsceadugenga) | 227 comments I just searched for the ISBN and the edition that comes up is one with completely different artwork and has superimposed a 978 in front of the numbers I entered verbatim from the book...

message 5: by Ren (new)

Ren | 688 comments Yes, it seems like the edition I mistook for a duplicate was actually a different edition with a different cover. I added the ISBN to the other book as a note, but since it was originally with the other entry, the other edition is the one that shows up in a search. Also, I checked and the librarian manual says "anthologies and reference materials" so I have added Antonia Fraser as the editor. I'm really sorry for the mess.

Beorn (bsceadugenga) | 227 comments Nothing to apologise for. It's precisely for messy things like this that there's librarians on here!
And thank you for sorting it out!

Lino Paul (linopaul) | 10 comments Hi.

Just started to read this book:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

But the right title should be "Caleidoscopio" (the spanish word for kaleidoscope) as it's printed out on the cover , instead of "Caleidoscopia" which it doesn't exist in spanish.

Also, it says that one of the autors is "Mónica Leví", but the correct name should be, again with the book cover info, "Mónica Lavín".

Hope someone can correct this mistakes. Thanks in advance.

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 26 comments hi I need to change the discription of my book to this but can'tseem to get into this version of my book.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
the discription should be this.
