I'm a jumper, and I read the first book of this trilogy a while back (maybe 6 weeks) ... maybe I should behave and read this book this week? The first didn't have me particularly enthralled, so I've been doing side reads instead.

The Subtle Knife is my favourite part in this trilogy. I hope you enjoy it! :)
I agree with Silvia, the second one is the best, the story is almost completely different.
Oh good! I'm less apprehensive about reading it now - to be honest, the first one left me cold.
I'm 10% in and already enjoying it more than the first. I've read that this book is less focused on Lyra, which I'm quite happy about, as I really didn't like her (which is probably why I didn't enjoy the first book all that much).
Just finished! So much better than the first book - I really enjoyed it. And I could add this as another contender for Week 40. :*(

Starting this one now. I liked but didn't love the first book.
I have yet to read the first one but will be continuing along with this one when I get done with it.
