Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You want mustard for Christmas this year, Geoff?

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Hugs for the girls who need them. Patti my ma in law managed to do for Christmas every year. I put up with it but when I came to cut the cake somehow the knife managed to to be in my hand as if I was about to stab something. I only have to do it now to make the family laugh. My daughter used to wear headphones and her Walkman at meal times.

message 419: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'll bring my iPod as well as my kindle this year.

And a great many bottles of bubbles. I'll try not to grip them by the neck.

message 420: by M.T. (last edited Nov 24, 2015 10:14AM) (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Delsey and Patti big hugs... Don't worry Patti, I don't really like Christmas. It's better now McMini has come along but I still just wish I could stay at home rather than always having to brave the roads.

Also, I'm smarting a tad I've just gone arse over tip. Why are doorsteps always a) raised up and b) why do that have that stupid strip of metal that sticks up about half an inch higher than the rest of it running along the middle?

I don't have the kinds of knees that step over things, I have to step onto the raised doorstep and then off and when it rains the whole fucking time for months on end, like now, my shoe always slips on the stupid wet metal thing and I fall down.

I bent my knee a lot further than I should, I have what looks like an extra knuckle and a great big thing about the size of a tennis ball with a nice slash across it on my shin and I've broken my umbrella.

And it's still blummin raining.

Ho hum...

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Got a message that a friend of mine died of an aneurysm a couple of days ago. We worked together when I was up in Glasgow. Great guy and a good engineer. A sad loss at 43, but quick for him, I imagine. He leaves a wife and dogs behind and a half built house in Dunoon.

Still processing it, to be honest.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments That's so sad Geoff, so much harder when they are young and it's unexpected
