Ah - I see now - it sounded a bit like a Vauxhall car!

You are very wise to process things so you can learn what you might learn, and then, I hope, leave the rest behind in the discard bin.

It can take a fair amount of effort - writing and talking - but being free makes it worthwhile. lancing the boil, so to speak.

That's why I blogged about all that's been happening: partly to warn/educated anyone who might face a similar set of choices, but more to get it out of my head in some roughly coherent fashion so I can get out from under its continuing effects.

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Thanks Alicia. I've been struggling more this afternoon so went to see a friend who works at one of the stations, apparently I'm perfectly normal feeling how I am, and it will get better gradually. So that's a relief, was a bit worried I was cracking! Going to keep myself busy for the next few days, got lots to do around the house.

Aww, fingers crossed it does get easier

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments If it helps, Claire, I am in awe of you. I once found a lady on the street who had had a heart attack. McMini was about six months old. We were driving along a street in Ely when I saw a woman lying on the pavement. My cousin has epilepsy so if I see someone down I always stop and offer help. There was a crowd of people around her, about five, and nobody seem to be helping her. They were just looking. I stopped the car and told McMini I was going to help. Nobody had rung for an ambulance so I did. She was on the way to collect her children from school. She was about my age. A parent passed by, told us her name and I asked her to get to the school and make sure the kids were taken aside so they didn't see their mum like this, and the dad called. She said she would. When it was done and the lady had gone in the ambulance I ran back to the car.

There was a lady there talking to McMini. He was crying and I felt terrible. She told me he had been crying and she had stopped to talk to him because she realised I must be one of the people over by the ambulance. The minute she asked me If I was OK I cried. A lot. I cried on and off for days afterwards, too. I cry on the way home from my parents every time I go to see them. It's natural. :-)

Frankly, I have no idea how you find the strength to do what you do. So rest assured, however worried you feel, you are doing something amazing and I, for one, couldn't stand in your shoes.

This too shall pass. Hold fast. It will be ok.

All the best

MTM xxx
