((((((big hug))))) Anita. I think the time of year, with all the expectation of enjoyment it brings, makes losses more poignant around now.
So sorry Anita ,I know what is like losing a good friend ,lost a friend last year and hard to believe she's no longer with us ,(((((((hugs ))))))))) Flying to you and cuddles xx
I've dropped my phone in the lavatory, which means I have to buy a new one, but I can't buy any old crappy £10 one to tide me over while I save up for a decent one, I have to shell out £70 or thereabouts on a crap smartphone so I can run my parents' banking app. Otherwise, no-one gets paid. Hoping I will get away with borrowing one from my father in law. We're charging it up now so with any luck it'll work. Not happy though. Phone is currently in bits on a piece of tissue on my in law's radiator ... I should be able to soak it in alcohol and get it going again but as I was standing up to pull my trousers up, pre flush, when it pinged out of my pocket and into the pan, I am not holding out much hope.
Cheers
MTM
Apparently if I soak mine in 99% rubbing alcohol it will get all the um ... corrosion ... off it and it'll work again. However, how do I find Amazon's warehouse? Google it?
I posted a couple of options on your facebook postHowever, look at your amazon page and click on 'Today's Deals' in the menu bar. There will now be a white menu bar under the normal one, and the 3rd option is 'Warehouse deals' You can search within that using the normal search box.
Oh no! bad luck MT.This article talks about the rice fix that Patti mentioned - https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-fix-smartphone-dropped-in-water
Just discovered one of the lads I've worked with in the past died yesterday. He was 26 :( I didn't know him very well but I feel so sad for his family.

Until Christmas can come to be remembering someone who has gone.
How heartbreaking for his family and friends.
I'm coming in here to see if there are any fluffy pillows and blankets to cuddle under. Two of the worst jobs you can get in less than two weeks :( really glad I'm going down to home tonight and that I've got two weeks off.
It's a very tough job Claire, you see so much more in a week than than others do in a lifetime. Big hug.
I don't know how you do it , Claire - I guess we're all very grateful to those that can and do, Have a good break.
Thank you everyone. I'm feeling a lot better now. Being home has really helped. Been through the last job several times now on paper and talking and feel like I've come to terms with what happened. Just hope it's a long while before I get another one of them.
Thanks Anita. And GL, had a lovely time at home :) back up north now and it hit me again last night a little bit. But going out for lunch with a friend who had a mock phd viva yesterday and hated it so we're going to cheer each other up!
