Big hugs off me too, Kay. I was 17 in 1985. It's a long time ago, and must be the most heartbreaking thing for anyone to go through.

Feeling a bit down today. We've heard that one of my younger daughter's classmates - a lovely girl and not yet 18 - has finally succumbed to the cancer that she had borne bravely and unfailingly cheerfully for well over a year. It's just too cruel.
Some things make you feel guilty for managing to get old. You have to promise yourself not to waste the time these young poeople never had. Hug for Rosemary (((x)))
Big hug from me too, Rosemary. Words cannot begin to express the loss of a young life under such circumstances, or any circumstances.
So very sad Rosemary,((((((hugs))))))),for Rosemary ,her daughter and the young girls family .Life can be cruel .
Linda was down at the town Post Office last week and she got talking to the lady who works behind the counter, who she has know for years. She noticed that the woman had a rather far-away expression, so she asked if everything was alright. She said that she had heard from her son, who was in the Bataclan Theatre in Paris watching the concert with everyone else when the attack started.
For some reason he looked round. Everyone else was watching the band. He noticed something wrong with the person who had just appeared at the back. He turned to his wife and said "We're getting out of here, that guy at the back has got a weapon. Get the emergency exit." They ducked down and got out before the shooting started.
Linda just stood there open mouthed.

What Patti said. Thanks everyone. Should have added that Rebecca raised more than £60,000 pounds for Children's Hospice Association in Scotland. Brave girl.
What a shock for Linda ! So pleased they made it out ok. That's an amazing amount of money Rosemary, very brave young lady indeed. I just heard sad news about a young friend of ours who is desperately ill, she's battled brain tumours for years but even now it's not letting her go easily. She's just 43 and has a young teenage daughter, a lovely family, breaks my heart.
Big hugs to Rosemary and Linda. Need a bit of a hug tonight as well, had a tough afternoon at work today.
That's a fantastic legacy Rosemary. That Sent shivers down my spine Geoff.
How sad for your friend Anita
Hope you feel better today Claire
Thank you. Feeling a little better this morning but still struggling with it a bit. Hopefully I'll have a better day today.
You do such a great job Claire, so sorry that you are struggling.. There is always hugs and support here for you, I hope you have a better day sweetheart X X
It never fails to amaze me when something in the news suddenly becomes very personal. I think we get used to these things happening to other people we do not know.I remember our accountant's receptionist, again when speaking to Linda, told her after the tsunami in Thailand in 2004. She said that her son, daughter-in-law and grandson were on holiday when it struck. They were never found.
I think some of it is that we travel more, but I suspect some of it is we're more willing to talk about it
I know lots of people who were affected by the tsunami. We were really lucky as we were on the beach in Kenya.
Thank goodness you were Patti ! That's awful Geoff, not having closure is unthinkable, that poor family.
Our Katy baby isn't doing so well at the moment.I hope she doesn't mind me sending out a rally round of hugs for her.
I know she knows we are all here to offer all the help we can when she's ready to ask.
We love you, Katy.
Hug for Katy. Sorry you're having a hard time at the moment. As Jim says, hang in there, things will get better.
