We are doing two, but that one was the one that was CLEARLY going to win the vote, so I put it up early. The other will be Enders Game. I will put them both up on the current reads on Friday! :)

I've read the first in that series but haven't read the second. I liked it, but not enough to jump out of my skin to read the next one. Hopefully I can get it soon though.

I own Legend but still have not gotten around to starting it. Sometimes I just feel like I cannot read a series. I need to start finding more book that are stand alones so I don't have to commit the next like week and weeks to one series...

message 106: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 37 comments Sometimes books are great in a series, but then there are the times when only one book is needed and it's like a movie franchise that won't stop making unnecessary sequels again... and again... and again... They can get old. *cough cough thinking of the Max Ride books*

message 107: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
I have only heard of Max Ride a little, but sounds like that is a good thing! haha

I like books in a series, but yes, only when there really is more to be read! Even though I LOVED Host, I am kind of sad that one is going to be continued. I felt it was a good stand alone, in a world of series books right now!

Does anyone use the Kindle Unlimited plan to get unlimited books from Amazon for a set price each month? Is it worth it? I have looked into it a little bit, but I am not sure if it is worth it, since not all titles are available... Any thoughts?

message 109: by Mrs. (new)

Mrs. O' Leary (mrsolearysayswoaf) | 37 comments never heard of that but it sounds cool

message 111: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments wow not heard of the Amazon set price before. Will have to look into it... tho if not all titles are included it will be my luck I wont find something before the month is up haha :D

message 112: by J (new)

J A | 86 comments Amazon also owns Audible and they have membership that allows you to download 1 or 2 books a month and their selection is much better, they have had any book I looked for. I just can't justify the price for such a small limit, I am sure they will eventually go unlimited or at least bump up the quantity and I will probably use that once they do

message 113: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
That's how I feel about the price too! I get enough books for free to rent from my digital library, so I don't plan on doing the Amazon deal just yet.... Maybe if they make it a better deal or offer more selection, but for now I am not convinced it is worth it.

Maze Runner is an amazing series for sure! I need to re-read them soon though, hopefully before I see the movie again. Although this time of year is busy so that might not quite happen, since I plan on buying it the day it comes out!! :)

I don't know if I actually cried when he dies in the book....but he was SO PERFECT in the movie! I lost it for sure! I was actually holding my breath thinking they were not going to kill him, since the music was all swelling and happy. And then Gally walked in and I just started crying immediately!! They did the moment so well to lead into the next book, but at the same time so BAD since it was emotional! haha I am currently re-reading the series (or rather listening to audio book while I knit Christmas presents) and I am not sure if I will be able to deal with that chapter all too well....

Since this is a random discussion, I wanted to talk about the book the Fault in our Stars by John Green. I read it before summer vacation and it only took me three days to read it. That is the fastest I ever read a book. I also saw that movie which I liked. Yet, I still the like the movie. I loved the book, so different than any book I read. I thought that it was amazing. I want to get people's take on what they think of the movie or book if they ever read it or saw it.

message 129: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
We have a thread for the book too. Likely a better place to get peoples take on it. :)

Thank you Dana. Now I know where to go :)

Perfect! I try to make sure all the popular books/movies have their own thread since people chat about them so much! In fact, we read TFIOS for out BOTM a few months back too, so the thread should have lots of comments in it! :)

message 132: by Gladys (new)

Gladys Garcia You know girls and guys. I read a series by t.m. nielsen

✨ABookGirl✨memoirs are my jam✨ (abookgirl1) Do you ever find it difficult to watch a movie after reading the book? The last few movies I watched I was constantly critiquing the movie or saying to myself, "Wait! What about...".
