Read this last week, I liked it, but didn't love it. My first Hardy, but I'll be reading more. I plan on watching the film adaptation soon too.
This is about two or three books away for me now, hopefully inside September. Part of my film challenge too.
Read this as a GCSE text *coughcough* years ago and hated it. However I wonder if I would get more out of it as an adult. I think I should watch the film and decide if it might be worth a re-read.
I am nearly halfway through this, my first Hardy too. I am enjoying it so far.Does anyone know how to pronounce Bathsheba? I am going for Ba-she-ba in my head as Bath-sheba sounds wrong.
Thanks Pink.I only found out I had been mispronouncing Hermione in my head for years when the first Harry Potter film came out.

I still can't pronounce it

I have finally finshed this book. It feels like it has taken ages to read, which is normally an indication that I am not enjoying a book as if i am enjoying what I am reading I make sure that I find the time to read.I have given it 3 stars. I liked the descriptions of farming and country life but just found the characters annoying and the story was not gripping.
this was my first Hardy and I will read others.
