No problem.
I took over from the last main mod of my group. If Jan wants to step down, she will need to make the new people 'mods' and then one of the new people will have to 'de-mod' her and the original mod. You can't 'un-mod' yourself.
If you want someone to keep an eye on the odd thread, perhaps organise review requests as that's my area of expertise, I'd be happy to help. Perhaps something similar to https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
but involving readers as well as authors.

That would be great! I think people probably want to talk about what they're reading now, I like the review requests idea, I know we talk about TV shows and movies over on the Space Opera Group. What else? Shall we ask Jan to make us mods for now? And see if we can get some more people to volunteer? Because you and I are only available to handle certain parts and/or amounts of time...
I'll probably regret this, but go for it. if you don't try, you don't know what'll happen. A bit like self publishing.
I feel exactly the same LOL. I don't need another thing to do right now! But I hate to see the Group just wither away when there's still interest.
OK, you can make me a Mod and I believe Emma has also agreed to be a Mod. We still need some more people though as neither she nor I can do this fulltime, or do ALL the Things.
You can add me as a mod also.i have an erratic schedule so done weeks Ivan be here a lot, others not so much, but wiling to give it a go. This group is the main reason I'm on GR any more already.
I think its a good idea that we have a mix of readers and authors as mods. As much as I love reading, being an author does tend to skew my perspective a little.

We were thinking the more of us Mods there were, the better, as far as workload on all of us and sheer ability to monitor the discussions. So if Jan gets back to us, I'd love to have you as a Mod too, with the understanding about your availability as you stated. I personally REALLY don't plan to undertake anything here that's going to demand too much time, since I have novels to write and other commitments, just want to keep it alive as a good place to talk SFR. Thanks!
You can make me the Mod, or me and Emma, Jen and KJ if you can appoint more than one. We'll unMod you - gently LOL! - and then move forward as we've been disscussing. Thanks!
I have thirteen mods on my review group, although there is only room for 12 icons.
Jan seems to have gone silent again, so I think leaving this a week for her to get back to us is a good strategy. This group is already set up with members, discussion boards etc. it would be far easier to revamp this one that start from scratch.

I've removed myself as a mod.
I wish you all the best!
I'm not published (no idea if I ever will be), but I write as a hobby. Is this problematic? If it's fine let me know how I can help out.

I didn't volunteer to be a mod because I am going back to school and also read a wide variety of genres. But I do tend to participate in goodreads groups that are active.
I don't disagree at all, Mary. But we (the Mods) have got to get ourselves organized a bit first!
I also agree. I understand that Emma is doing some cleanup today -- give me a task and I'll help!

I really appreciate everything you're doing, Emma! If you need me to do something particular, don't hesitate to let me know.
I'm feeling my way just like anyone else.
I think keeping the group alive by starting up new subjects for discussion would be the best way people can participate and help.

Today is going to be a busy work day for me, but let me know if you need anything. If you message me, I'll get a notification on my phone.
