This was a fun adventure!

A little bit of whodunit thrown in for good measure: is Fogg really the bank thief? I didn't get the main character, Fogg, why is he so stoic and impassable? But it made you root for him more somehow.

I was surprised that there was a whole chapter about Mormons (I'm a Mormon myself) when our adventurer passes through Ogden, Utah (my hometown).

The surprise ending was clever, I didn't see it coming even though there was some foreshadowing.

I don't know why I associate this book with hot air balloons, because...there ain't none. Every other conveyance known to man is used, though. I also thought Verne was English, but he's French, and this is a translated work. Who knew?

Very fun little book.
