Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments Scratch that. I don't know if it's going to fit. She goes from a peasant to like a high-born Lady betrothed to a prince and lives in the palace. But is a "Lady" considered royalty? Things are spiraling downward quickly and it's looking like a wedding (making her a princess) in this book is not going to happen.

If I go to amazon.ca and type in the book I want and select hardcover and scroll down, eventually it will give me shipping information for the book. We need to find one of our books that weighs over 2lbs.

Our goals, along with our points, Christine, can roll over, our books that are unattached can not be used for round 3 but if you started a book in round two then you can finish that book in round 3 and it will count.

message 723: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (everlastinggrace) So, I can start a book for a goal now and know that it will count towards fulfilling that goal into round three? I think for some reason I get this all messed up every round! by the time the challenge is over, I'll have it clear. So what if I take the book into a movie goal? I have The Grass Harp by Truman Capote

Laura | 9707 comments HI Everyone!
Our team is so huge now! I just wanted to do a quick shout out and say hi to you all!!

Work and family aren't leaving me much time for GR or reading.

So many read books when I log on I want to comment on all of them but don't want to make the thread more cluttered. Lots of books to add to the TBR now!!
M you just finished a book called the Terror that I already had on my to read list. How was it?

Kim did you enjoy your birthday?

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

message 739: by Kim (new)

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments I did! It was pretty low key. I think that happens when you're old.

I'm on vacation this week. In my mind, I thought I would be knocking out books so quickly, but i feel like there's so many other things going on, that I'm reading less! Grrrr..

Tonight, there's a bunch of drama going on with my teenage daughter and her friends and I'm mediating that. I don't know how I got to be so lucky. Ha ha. Kids are the worst to each other.

message 740: by Kim (new)

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments And seriously, this round is nuts. I don't know how you captains are doing it. I don't feel like I can even sleep for fear that when I get up there will be a thousand posts to read through.

Everything is moving so fast. It's impossible to call out and reserve a goal, really. Especially if you are a slower reader like me. I can knock out about 4 or 5 books a week usually, but some of these people can knock out that many in a day. I don't know how they do it.

I'm just reading books and so far each one has fulfilled one of the 24 goals. I've lucked out and haven't had anyone crabby at me for stealing something they are working on. Fingers crossed it will stay that way.

Awesome! Enjoy your vacation! Ouch... something for me to look forward to. (My daughter is 10) No drama with my 15 year old son!

The worst to each other.. or sometimes the best. My daughter refused to learn how to ride a bike(weird...huh? )until tonight. The boy next door was bragging her up and so impressed that she learnt in one night!I think he was as proud of her as I was, lol!

Good luck with the drama & mediating!!

Crazy nuts! The amount of posts is insane! The other captains are doing an awesome job! SO much easier with Vicky's new spreadsheet!
I'm slow with the goals too, I don't mind if a faster reader beats me to the punch! My book lucked out tonight! I was able to slip it right in there with a new goal:-)

Did you read Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) by Sara Raasch yet Kim? I started it tonight. I am not far in but I am liking it!

oh oh! Not good! Hopefully it will resolve and all work out for the best!

message 745: by Kim (new)

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments I haven't read that one yet, but it's on my list. I'm reading These Broken Stars right now and it's really good. I'm 3/4 of the way through and have no idea what's going on, which is rare. I'm usually good at figuring things out early.

Oh man...that does not sound fun, Kim. Hopefully everything will resolve soon so you can get back to your book. :)
Which sci-fi book are you reading? I've been more into sci-fi lately and I've been searching for some good ones.

Happy Tuesday! :)

That is very cool about your daughter. Sounds like the neighbor's boy is a sweet kid. :)

I haven't been on as much as I had hoped. My husband and I adopted a dog yesterday so I've had my hands full and haven't had much time for anything else.

message 748: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (everlastinggrace) Hi Kim and Laura! I am like you guys wondering how in the heck can these people chug books out like they do. I am lucky if I get 3-4 books read, sometimes 5 if I have shorties. I am reading a massive almost 600 page sci-fi. I usually won't touch a book over 350 pages during a challenge but I figured what the heck with all these people reading. I do miss the talk, I am with you on that Laura, I am afraid to created more posts, so I try to keep my posts down.

Kim....I didn't realize that you have a teenage daughter, you look so youngish. I hope things are worked out soon with your daughter and friends. I don't envy you having your parents getting involved. I have had enough family drama while the girls were growing up and it wasn't the girls, it was my side of family and my in-laws! I could write a book from all the drama.

I miss getting a chance to discuss Fear the Walking Dead and with TWD starting up soon, I think I'll really miss it. We need a place here to discuss it when it starts up again.

Well, I have been trying to get farther into my book but I am so freaking sleepy and constantly fighting the drowsiness. I have been laying awake late not being able to sleep, so I have been fighting sleepiness for several days.

We'll have to check in now and then to say howdy :D It is so crazy over there. I have been not worrying so much in trying to marry up my books to goals because the goals are snatched up anyway. So I figure once I ready to post them, I'll be able to see if they match up with a goal. At least so far my plan has been working.

message 749: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (everlastinggrace) Hi Amanda! lol....*waving* like we never talk! hehe! I am loving Leviathan Wakes (Expanse, #1) by James S.A. Corey who would have thought that I would be reading a sci-fi! crazy!

message 750: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments I think it's a pretty good plan to just read and hope your book fits in somewhere, unless your book is for a goal that is difficult to find.
