"That we know of." He said conspiratorially.

"I'd ask you to help me with a prank but you'd get in really big trouble if you were caught." And it wouldn't be good to be caught together pulling a prank. He wouldn't get off with just a warning from the queen and she might make good on her implied threats of kicking him out of the castle.
Lila bit her lip. "I'm sorry... I would but... yeah." She sighed. If there was no chance of being caught, she would definitely help him out. But if she got caught... It wouldn't be worth the risk.
Lila nodded. "Yeah..." She sighed. If he was just a normal guy and her just a normal girl, she could see her becoming really good friends together, maybe even prank buddies.
She bites her lip, thinking. "Umm, there must be a clock somewhere, right?" She looks around. "Why, do you need to be somewhere soon?"
He grimaced. "Actually yes. I don't just live here for kicks and giggles though that is a big part of it." He grinned briefly. "I'll see you later Lil?"
Lila watched him go and then decided to start reading the book. She sat down in a comfy chair and opened the book, eager to start.
((Sorry just saw this. Maybe we should just wait and have them RP with other people and then rp with both of them later?))
Tara walked in, following the queen and just feeling incredibly awkward because she'd already been here but decided she didn't want to say. However she felt bad pointing that out so she was going along with it with a smile.

Tara nodded and followed the queen towards the back of the library, still holding the book and feeling like she should say something but not knowing what to say.

Tara frowned when the queen opened a door which she was pretty sure was never there before. She hesitantly followed but stopped in the doorway, "Wow, I didn't know this was here."

The queen closed the door and turned on the light, "This is the best place to read." Queen Victoria informed Tara. "I did not catch your name."
"Thank you so much, your majesty." Tara said with a smile, "This is lovely." She said looking around the room which was now lit up. "Oh, I'm sorry." Tara said, "I should've said, it's Tara Hunt."

Queen Victoria chuckled, "You really do not have to apologize. It is a very nice pleasure meeting you Tara Hunt."
"No, I feel bad for inconveniencing you." Tara said shaking her head, "But thank you very much." She smiled at the queen again, "and you too." she said although she basically knew everything there was to know about the queen and they had met a couple weeks ago when she'd told herself and another girl about the patterns on the floor.

"I told you that you do not have to apologize." She laughed a little, "I am actually thinking of reading in here as well."
Tara dipped her head a bit, "Sorry." She said without thinking, "Oh, no. I didn't mean that!" She said hastily. "Oh, are you?" Tara asked. She'd kind of assumed that by the really nice dress the queen had put on that she was going somewhere important.

Tara went and followed the queen, "Do you mind if I sit with you? I don't want to be a bother or anything..." She said.

Tara grinned and sat down. If she were back at home she'd probably have put her feet up on the table but she wouldn't even dream of doing that here. Honestly, being in the Selection sort of made her realise how warm and cosy their farm house was. Tara opened up the book she had and started reading from where she had left off earlier. She felt like she should say something in this silence but it was still technically a library and she thought the queen would probably rather read in silence than have someone make annoyingly awkward small-talk.

The queen picked her book up and sat down across from Tara; she too started to read her book. This one was a more ancient one.
Tara loooked up over her book at the queen who was reading a book so old that Tara thought it would fall apart at any moment. "What book are you reading?" She asked, "Your majesty," She added quickly enough that it wouldn't seem like she was forgetting her politeness.

The queen looked up, "It is a very ancient book and it is in another language. A language way back then."

Tara looked at her, rather impressed and put 'learning ancient languages' on her mental list of things she'd have to do when she was queen- which was a very long list. "I'm sure it is... I know a small bit of French but that's all." Tara said, she hadn't really had much of a chance to learn any languages especially since her parents, owning a farm where pretty low down on the income scale and a long way behind the Fours who owned high class hotels and such. She also never really saw a need in having to learn a different language since everyone in Illéa spoke in English anyway.

"But the present is given to us for a reason." The queen turned the page, "And that is because it is a 'gift' and we will never know what will happen."
The whole 'never know what will happen' suited this whole Selection very well. Tara had no idea how long she'd be here, she'd hardly even gotten a chance to talk to the Prince at all yet. He could send her home whenever he wanted to and she had absolutely no idea. Tara agreed with the queen with a nod, "Do you find it strange having so many girls in the palace?" She asked her curiously, kind of changing the subject a little bit.

THe queen looked at her, "No, I do not find it strange at all." She chuckled. "I just think that girls overrule boys here. I meant just by how many we are."
Tara laughed softly, "There are a lot of girls, it's actually rather overwhelming sometimes." She said with a small sigh.

The queen closed the book and stood up, "Of course it is. Anyways, I have to hurry out of here. I have a meeting." She turned and left the room. "And do not tell anyone I left you in here by yourself." She chuckled. With that she left the library and back to her chambers.
