Looking for a title

Hi, I am trying to find a book I read many years ago. It was a romance book about a guy who went to some quiet seaside place, possibly on an island to try and figure some stuff out and a woman turns up also seeking refuge. From memory her name was Rebecca but that could be wrong. The hero figures out the heroine is an abused wife, and at some point they are out on a boat together. At the end of the book, her husband or ex husband turns up and there is a bit of a battle. Can anyone help with knowing what the title is or who the author is?
