Michael I just read the first up and from the movies everyone knows that the grand staircase moves but I found no mention of this in the books. I'm almost done with the second and still nothing. Can someone explain

Daisy Oh, you mean the Marble Staircase? That doesn't move in the books.

Kaitlyn They do move in the book. I'm positive that they do move.

I don't think they do either

Daisy Most of the staircases do move, but the marble one doesn't.

Kaitlyn They move!!!!!

Michael So they don't movie in the books? If they do can someone give me a page number of the first book which says if cause I really want to know if I missed something. If jk didn't think of that who did ?

Daisy Oh yeah, I just thought of something. I always just assumed they moved in the books, but what it actually says in the books is that some led somewhere different on a Friday, and some that had a trick step. So it never actually, technically says that they move! It just says they sometimes lead somewhere different, so I guess it's up to personal opinion whether you think that means they move or not.

Ronjaws They move.

Daisy Okaaaay. . . thanks for that. . .

Ruby I'm pretty sure that in the books, the staircases don't move directly. I think what they say is that stairs go different directions on some days. I believe the movies' constantly-moving-staircase thin was for effect. As for the Marble Staircase, that doesn't move and is not the same thing as the grand staircase.

Susan See chapter 8. They sort of mention it over there.
