Netanella | 2108 comments Hey there zombie fans,

I need to find a book to meet a reading challenge - an author of Irish descent. Are there any zombie fiction authors out there that that fit this bill?

Thanks,
N

Sara | 94 comments Well, I found someone named Darren Shan on Amazon...he's Irish and has a zombie series called "Zom-B". I've not read any of his work, though.

Netanella | 2108 comments Thanks! I didn't realize Shan was Irish.

I'm familiar with Darren Shan's Cirque du Freak series, a YA vampire series. I believe there's a movie out there from the first or second book of the series. (Yammy would approve - none of the vampires sparkle.)

I'll look into his zombie series...

Zom-B was quite fun! I read the sequel as well. There are a few more out there.

Netanella | 2108 comments Awesome! Nice to meet you, Misty.

The other day I went to the local evil empire big-box store and picked up a green shirt for my husband so he could wear for St. Patrick's Day with the kids. The only one in his size said "0% Irish", so I grabbed it, feeling all proud of myself.

I bring it home and show it to him, and he tells me, "You didn't remember my dad's family is Irish."

Damn - what a dumbass I am!

Hi Netanella, Season of the Dead is partially set in Dublin, Ireland and one of the authors is definitely Irish (me) Hope I haven't posted too late for your challenge.

Thanks for the recommendation, Paul. My challenge was in March, and I ended up with Darren Shan's Zom-B, which was really good.

"Season of the Dead" looks good, so I will add it to my list and maybe go with the "red cover" angle for this month. Thanks!

No that is a dark romance. Euphoria-Z is my zombie novel out on May 12.

Netanella | 2108 comments Okay, I was wondering. It's not on goodreads yet, which might explain my inability to find it. Looking forward to seeing it come out!

Remy (remyporter) | 2 comments The Estuary by Derek Gunn is an Irish zombie novel with a great set up involving a long lost Nazi submarine being found in the sands of an Irish village.
