Marian Schwartz | 57 comments I would like to have two short stories removed from your data base--An Authentic Hero and The Queen Anne Bedroom Set. These stories are no longer being published individually; they are now incorporated into a book of short stories entitled "Harry Danced Divinely," which will be published this week. They are not on Amazon, and they will be available only in the Giffort Street collection of short stories. Also, these stories no longer fit into the category of "Series." To have individual listings show for them on Goodreads would be confusing to readers, as would the label "Series." It is the format in which the stories are available that should matter. Blanket policies don't always fit every situation. I want to make it easy and straightforward for readers. Your policy will confuse the readers that Goodreads was created for.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments No, we do not delete published works. Books go out of print all of the time, but readers still remember having read them. Our policy of not deleting out of print editions prevents confusion among people who have read those editions, who are the readers Goodreads was created for.

That is why we keep every format. Books going out of print rarely confuses readers.

I think we can change the series page so that the two short stories will no longer be listed as #2 and #3 nor as primary works. The new work could then become #2 in the series. We could also add a note to the effect that the two shorties are now included in Harry Danced Divinely and are not available separately. Would that help?

Marian Schwartz | 57 comments The new work should be considered the primary work, if it must still be considered a series. Adding a note to the effect that the two shorties are now included in Harry Danced Divinely and are not available separately would certainly help!
