Hows your current read?

I'm reading a murder story set in the Norfolk Broads(England) called 'Waterproof', by Chris Crowther. It is the author's first venture into novel writing and it shows. Some of the dialogue is a little clunky but the descriptions of the Broads and the wildlife are superb. My copy of the book is signed by the author though I bought it cheaply on e-bay.

I'm reading the Donor, findable in my book challenge.
Normally I wouldn't be too quick to pick a book like that. It's not really 'my genre', but I got it for free and I'm happy to read it.

I have finished a book about cycling round the 4 compass points of Wales but I can't recommend it. The author spends most of his time making fun of the people he meets which leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

I am reading the undomestic goddess by Sophie kinsella. O god she writes so well that I feel like taking up a job of a housekeeper.. :D

I have just started George Eliot's 'Scenes of Clerical Life' which I have had from new, sitting on my bookshelf for years. Last year I visited her birthplace which now houses a massive second-hand bookshop and cafe.

I am reading Old Glory by Jonathan Raban, an English travel writer. It is his account of a journey along the Mississippi in the early 1980's. Haven't really got into it yet,maybe it will get better once he actually hires a boat and gets onto the water. So far all I know is he doesn't think much of Minneapolis.

Now we have come as far downriver as Dubuque. Enjoying it but the author can't seem to decide whether he is writing in English or American vocabulary using a strange mixture of the two.

Curing Charlotte by Kimball Lee

I love and hate love triangles, but this series to this book really hooks you into the characters. It's best to read Book 1 which is freebie on amazon Legal Action and it will tell you why this is a love/hate triangle.

i am deep into the civil war series from marvel comics, its a little over 100 issues overall so its taking a while. its so good tho, normally i am a dc comics guy but this stuff is pretty intense. ive read a few here and there over the years but i finally decided to read the entire series. quite entertaining.

Sounds like a good read! I'm trying to get through The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett myself, since he is such a funny writer and I've heard good things about the Discworld series.

Nearly finished my reread of an old P D James crime novel and getting more into 'The Shining'. Only reading it in daylight though! I usually have at least 2 books on the go.

just finished i, partridge, the tale of a humble broadcaster and his hilarious life. ive been an alan partridge fan since i first saw knowing me knowing you so it was a fantastic read. any partridge fans should add it to the must read list :) now im reading the big book of serial killers or something like that. its a quick read and i cant help it, im fascinated by the macabre :)

The Art of Racing in the Rain
I am Currently reading Art of racing in the rain for a bookclub I am in. It is a great book, but highly emotional.

i am currently reading absolutely nothing. my ebook reader broke down on me and i dont get by the library too often. it is incredibly frustrating, lol. i only have one book that ive never actually finished in my collection, the encyclopedia of ancient and forbidden knowledge. and as interesting as that does sound it reads like a different language. perhaps i shall give it another try tho, might kill the boredom of nothing read at the moment.

Honestly I hated that movie. It was good if you haven't read the book. But they totally messed it up.

I'm reading a sort of eroticnon-fiction from the UK, and it's interesting c: it's about real women and their fantasies, and stories about how they came true and whatnot. Some of the stories are fricken hilarious and the women learn that sometimes fantasies are better than reality, and some stories are just pure sexy haha
It kind of got under my skin at one point when the author put a man's masculinity down because he wanted a strap-on in bed though. It was a bit unfair, and definitely misused a star for me, but it's a decent book besides the fact c:

going with some true crime, pierreponts: a family of executioners by steven fielding. its pretty good, im getting all the true crime out of it thats for sure. in fact i will be doing a bit more of a comment about it in the true crime section. its highly entertaining though, together these 3 guys (two brothers and a son) over the decades racked up a death toll probably in the thousands, all perfectly legal. craziness.

have moved on to a zombie book, its by no means an educational or enlightening piece of literature, but it is fun. lots of gore and ridiculousness. the book is:

Hye guys! I'm currently reading Dorothy Must Die. Despite the intriguing title, the starting is bland in comparison. I'm not sure if I should give up on this book. I dont like giving up on books. But reading this book is a struggle. Anyone have read it?

I'm currently reading the first Hunger Games. In grade 10 our small highschool had taken to reading it all together, but I never did pay attention as good as I could have.
It's not that great :P After reading Children Of Men, the writing could be a LOT better. My boyfriend and sister have reminded me that it is writing targeted at pre-teens, though I heard that it's a pretty gorey book too, so it only makes sense to pair gore with decent literature, am I right?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Ive not read the hunger games books, not really my cup of teen lit tea. But if you want a crazy movie, similar in some ways im told, check out battle royale if you havent all ready. Be prepared for gore.

i havent read the book either kayla, perhaps i should add it to the list. im starting to think 100 books was a bit much for my reading challenge, lol. i am barely keeping up with it. and when you lag behind the challenge meter gets so smug.

I just read a graphic novel called Saga. I read the first one so far. Planning on getting the next ones. But I really have to say, so far it's pretty good. But I should also give a pretty big warning. It's....very adult, lets say lol.

Ive been slacking in the books department. I shouldnt have made the 100 book pledge. I have however been reading a lot of comics. Just finished the sinestro wars, any green lantern fans should try to check this series out.

Buf! I'm reading a lot of books now and I'm a bit stressed
I have to read one from Jordi Sierra i Fabra for the school
And on my own I'm reading The fault in our stars (not my type, but better than I've expected), Grey is...(every week on the official webpage), the whole serie FMA and La Doble Vida De les Fades ( the traduction is something like: The double life of fairy)

But I like all of them, so I'm not borred :')
