Introductions
hey there hood, welcome, im glad youve joined. thanks very much for the compliment. that pic turned out pretty cool indeed for the header

Liking your initiative for a more active group, friendly guy. ;)
My introduction
I'm just a female 40 year-old, who likes GoodReads very much and spend some time here daily. My native is Dutch, so forgive me my English grammar - and spelling mistakes. If you can't, then I very much would appreciate that person to give me constructive critisism. Thanks in advance.
I'm married and have two kids. In general kind of cliche, but in the details far from it.
I consider myself a likable sympathatic person, but if you would mess with me or treat me unfriendly, then I can or will be sharp with words.
Interests
You can find the main ones mentioned in my profile.

Great! Thanks so much! I hope u like it and would like some honest feedback
youre not the only author in this group, i think a folder should be started for all you clever folks that got the stories on paper to get the word out about your work. a place to tell us about it, discuss it, and get some feedback or advice perhaps. what do you think K?

I think you're right...
well there is now a place for you to promote, i hope you all enjoy, especially ms K who inspired the discussion

I'm Jack Rabbit.Calling me, Jack or Rabbit is fine but not J.R. I'm 24 (damn, have you ever just had your birthday a month or 2 ago but forgot for a sec that you are a year older? That keeps happening to me.), I like any book as long as it's got a bangin' story.Neil Gaiman, Darren Shan, J.K. Rowling and David Almond are my top favorite authors. Shan can write the best y.a. horror and his Cirque Du Freak series was ace!
I'm trying to think of something I haven't said before in group intros... :/
Um, pain can sometimes be for pleasure. And stealing cokes from the machine taste that much sweeter!
Nice to be here. =)

Hello Jack welcome to our happy little nerdy family. XD
David. Bookworm. Writer. Old. Nice. Lives by sea. In England. Reading is greatest pastime ever.

a very warm welcome to ya david, I hope you enjoy our little group. participate and add my friend, you are in good company.

I have read 14 books so far in 2014 and am completing three book challenges so far this year:)
What book are we reading right now?:)
Hey there Danielle, we actually don't have a monthly book reading challenge here. Not yet anyways. What do you think, good idea? I'd love to hear your ideas on it, we can start one up I am quite sure. If you want a more quicker fix tho there is a discussion where we talk about what we are currently reading, perhaps someone is reading something you'd like :)
Welcome to our awesome little nerdy family Danielle. :)

I like all kinds of fiction, with a few non-fiction favourites as well. I absolutely love Joseph Boyden, Stephen King, and Tom Stoppard, as well as some classics like Virginia Woolf and John Steinbeck. Michael Cunningham is great as well. I'll throw Dan Chaon in there too. Too hard to pick an overall favourite. In terms of non-fiction I really enjoy Jon Krakauer's works and I've read a lot of the stuff Jane Goodall puts out. I've actually had the opportunity to hear her speak on a few occasions.
I'm currently studying English and History at university. I've worked in libraries for the past five years so I love discussing literature with different people and seeing what they like to read, or see what they thought of the novels I've read.
Looking forward to talking to you all :)
Welcome Mitchell, very glad you could join us. I hope you enjoy the group like we do. If you feel something is missing by all means start up a discussion or suggest And someone will take care of it :-) see ya around the boards
