This is a book about a boy whose widowed father remarries. The boy is depressed and feels abandoned,so he take solace in the books in his attic room. He hears them talking amongst themselves. Later on, he wanders into the woods and finds a door that he goes through. This leads to an adventure where he is pursued by...something...I can't remember exactly what happens. I can't remember the author or the title either! I would like to find this book so I can reread it. If anyone has any info on it, please share!
