Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Okay, STILL weirded out by this dream I had a couple of nights ago... I met this guy, Andrew, and we seemed to run into each other ALOT - enough that I was thinking it was more than coincidence that we kept seeing each other - like maybe he was going out of his way to run into me in the same places... It was all cool though - we got to know each other a couple of months and became friends. And then my friends IRL, Kate and Mitch, pointed out to me that he was John Mayer... and everyone knows "Andrew" is just his pseudonym. Except I didn't know. And I was PISSED at first because a. he lied to me about his name, and b. I can't stand his music. They told me he was already friends with our buddy, Lauryn - now THIS I found very cute and amusing because she's had a massive crush on him for YEARS. She even knows one of the guys in his band IRL. After thinking it over, I decided it'd be dumb to stop being friends with this guy who had charming intelligent conversation with me just because I don't like his music... so I didn't tell him I knew he was John Mayer and we met up and walked around Target just talking about politics and pundits and the state of the world and literature... and that was the end of my dream. And when I woke up, I was just dumbfounded. I think I must've said WTF about 8 times in a row... and was just... just completely weirded out about the whole thing.

I mean, it's not like I don't like him. I don't know anything about him, really. He's not even on my radar, except when I hear him singing on the radio or on a CD... and I'll change the music right away.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I have no idea what this means, but last night I dreamed of meeting this cute charming young man who had NO BODY. He had a head and a neck, which was on a pillow. He seemed not too concerned about his lack of a body and encouraged me not to worry about it. He was sometimes able to talk, sometimes not. I was OBSESSED with this man/head and wanted to help him. He had the silkiest blonde/brown hair, like a toddler with his first haircut. I kept talking to him and petting his hair and worrying about him. Later on in my dream, he regained his body, no help from me. He was very blase about the whole thing.

janine | 7709 comments this is dream no. 2 of three dreams, but i am too lazy to write down all three of them.

i was in a department store that was being remodeled. the store was near the town center in a fictional town i know i have visited before in dreams. i talked to others in the store about how strange/ugly the remodels were. then don draper showed up and asked me what i thought of them. i told him what i thought and added that the carpeting and chairs made the place look like a cheap church. after that we enterend a room where people were seated in rows as if they were expecting a presentation. we took a seat with them. someone else had brought a sheep and took it to the bathroom. the sheep had black ragged wool and big glowing red eyes. after a while the sheep and its owner returned. everyone stood up, apparently the presentation was over, if there ever was one. don was going to drive me home. his car had the steering column on the right. bobbie barrett was also with us and i had to sit in the back. there wasn't enough legroom. don draper was my (step) father. what?!

janine | 7709 comments i dreamt i got lost in a store (another one than the one in my other dream). there were a lot of elevators and stairs and the walls were covered with dark colored paneling. the rooms all changed and walls moved, nothing was the same when i came there for a second time. when i finally managed to escape from the store i was in a strange place, by the sea, a long way from the store. i think i have been there before in other dreams when i got lost or was trying to get somewhere. i tried to make my way back to the city where the store was and i got robbed.

when i came home this morning and i couldn't find my keys i thought i had been robbed because of the dream. turns out i just locked myself out saturday, the keys were still lying in their usual spot on the bookcase. maybe my subconscious knew i forgot my keyes.

smetchie | 4034 comments I dreamed one of my co-workers was in the office after hours and someone shot at her through the window. I analyzed the instant messaging log and figured out that it was another co-worker, Patty, who was supposed to be out of town at the time. When Patty returned to the office, I pulled her aside to discuss her annual review with her. I said, "do you own a gun?" and then chided her for shooting at another co-worker. Other than that, I gave her a very good review.

message 215: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Other than that. I like that.

message 216: by [deleted user] (new)

That would be a great conversation - Patty, you do a great job for us , and your work is exemplary, but you really need to stop shooting at your fellow employees. That will not look good on your next review.

Félix (habitseven) I had a dream that included pastries and pies as well as motorcycles. I recall carrying around a large stuffed pastry with bacon and eggs in it, trying to get people to show me where I should set it down. The motorcycles were just in the background.

janine | 7709 comments i had a dream where i was a detective. my partner commented on the number of judges i knew and implied i traded sexual favors for power (that might have something to do with the dream i had before this one except those weren't judges). that was all soon forgotten when we had to catch a criminal. this all took place on a tropical island so we chased the criminal using a speedboat and a cool car we commandeered at the local gas station. i got to drive. while i was busy enjoying the cool car we had just commandeered our colleagues caught the criminal just before he got to the border. usually i'm the one being chased so i really enjoyed this dream.

janine | 7709 comments in last night's dream i was on vacation with a group of people. we were returning home in our minivan which was filled with all our stuff, bicycles included, when we made a quick stop at a supermarket. somehow supermarkets are always scary in my dreams and this was no exception. when we finally returned to the car one of the doors was open. we had been robbed. luckily the robbing was still in progress so most of our stuff was still there. we decided it would be best to go and everyone got in the car when i noticed a bicycle part in the parking lot. it was of one of our bicycles so picked it up and started walking to the car when i noticed someone approaching holding a part of the same bicycle. i had to have that part to. the other person wouldn't let go and i had to fight to get it. i did some kick-ass (or kick-head) karate moves and got the bicycle part. the car was already running and it was time to go so i started running towards the car. somehow our robber wasn't very good at letting go and followed me. i got into the moving car and closed to door but our robber was still hanging on to the car. when we sped up the person had to let go and made a nasty splash on the road.

janine | 7709 comments i had a dream i adopted a puppy disguised as a tiger, orange with black stripes. all the other cute dogs were already taken.

i also dreamt i was in a chase, in a cartoon/movie world. the bad guys were early twentieth century germans wearing the helmets with a spike on top and dressed in green driving a big green bus.

janine | 7709 comments i dreamt i was a contestant in a project runway-esque show. we had designed our own outfits which we had to wear to a party. somehow some of the contestants thought it was a good idea to make funeral dresses. suddenly it wasn't so sure we were invited to the party, but i said i was going anyway and that was ok. i also won the challenge.

janine | 7709 comments last nigh's dream featured a department store elevator gone mad, with me in it, and superheroes and villains, in bright coloured costumes, a car chase, swordfights and crushed skulls. with all the store nightmares i'm beginning to think i'm subconsciously suffering from agoraphobia. or my subconscious wants to go clothes shopping for new spring and summer clothes. maybe i'll try that.

janine | 7709 comments close your windows, lock your doors, i have killed again.

first i was safe indoors observing the people outside, but then i decided i needed to go outside to spy on people and see what they were really up to. i used a fake name (biney, inspired by season one of dexter i presume), talked to some people and then killed some of them. i don't remember the killing part. then a woman found out i had killed her friends and that i had been lying about my name and other things. she came after me and said some very witty things (i remember being impressed) using what i had said to her and others against me. then she reached for my neck and just before she snapped it (she was exceptionally strong) i woke up. i really really really want the dress she was wearing.

after some contemplation on this dream i fell asleep again. in my second dream i had inherited some books because my father's wife #2 (in reality he's still with #1, my mother) had died. i was just looking at my new cool e-reader (black, ipad-thin, ca. 17 inches in diameter, with a paper jacket so it could be shelved and look like a real book) but before i could turn it on i heard noises on the hallway. it was my father. apparently he had inherited some gold bars and was trying to hide them in a corner behind a door. i tried to help him, but the bags the gold bars were in were also filled with pasta and bolognese sauce.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I remember my dream!!

I dreamed that I was hanging out with two friends from my childhood, two from high school, two current friends, and my brother and sister and nephew. We all converged on a vacation spot and then decided to walk to dinner. While at the restaurant, I noticed some really cool stuff - like people were shrunken to fit inside the dining area of little glass bubbles that were lit from inside. They kind of looked like those giant glass balls you might see floating on water or around beach houses. Also, this restaurant was giving away really cool door prizes - couture clothing, hats, purses, vacations, money!!!, tech gadgets that seemed too cool for Sharper Image... and I was wondering why I'd never heard about this really cool place! I mean, surely word of mouth would've gotten out about something like THIS. And then I realized the regular patrons likely didn't want it to become too popular. They were enough to sustain the business at this place. I decided we should ask if we could all dine in one of the glass bubbles, too... and asked everyone in the group if they were agreeable to this. They also appreciated the novelty of this, so of course, they agreed to it. We waited at a regular table while they prepared our glass bubble for us. I was so excited... I was going to be shrunken to miniature size!!! I think we all were. I couldn't wait to find out how they would do it. While we were waiting at our table, I noticed the wait staff... everyone was extraordinarily beautiful. I mean gorgeous! The men, the women... and they were all so kind and polite and intelligent, but not at all in a creepy, sending off big red flags kind of way... just in a very unassuming kind of way. And while we were waiting, I found out that I won the door prize and I got my pick of hats! The hats were large gorgeous canvas hats - they seemed like a cross between the humongous straw hats with the sophisticated wave in the front and a fishing canvas hat, some with madras print. I decided to go with a large-brimmed beige canvas hat with black velvet trim. It was so beautiful. When I got back to the table where my group was sitting, we oooh'd and ahhhh'd over the hat and then the waitress told us our table was ready and to follow her. I was so excited to see our glass bubble was a mottled yellow bubble and I could see shrunken hanging baskets inside it with beautiful container gardens and little trees and white lights strung all around. She was about to shrink us when I woke up to my roommate coming home and his dogs whining for him to hurry up and unlock the door already.

Then Robby gave me lots of kisses all over my face. :) For real.

Lori I think you need to buy a hat!

What a cool thread, now I know where to post dreams, if I remember - I'll have to come here first thing in the morning before my remembrances recede.

Altho I'm a little worried about janine's killing sprees! Who knows what lurks in the hearts of man? :D

Julie | 568 comments Someone on here was talking about a losing your teeth dream, which I have sometimes.
I saw Ellie Kemper from The Office on Craig Ferguson's show the other night talking about having the teeth-falling-out dream and how it is a text book insecurity dream. I had never heard this before, but I suppose it makes sense. What is there to be insecure about if not randomly losing a bunch of teeth?
Anyone else have those?
