smetchie | 4034 comments I was walking behind a bunch of houses that backed to trees with a couple of other people. The houses were huge and had giant framed portraits all over the outside of them. Mostly black and white, as if of famous people or dictators but no one I recognized. Then we went down a hill and the houses changed to projects but the outsides were still covered in portraits. A big dog jumped over a fence and tried to attack me but one of the guys I was with calmed it down. Then we climbed up into one of the apartment buildings. The steps were littered with toys and clothes and there were so many cobwebs you had to walk moving both arms in front of you. We finally got to the attic and there was a young girl living there in secret with her new baby. The attic was immaculate. We decided she was living there illegally but we weren't going to tell anyone.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That's a cool dream. Like...it's a safe place. Or were you scared and hiding?

message 153: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments I like your pig, Janine. I wish she were real and I could pat her head.

message 154: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments he was standing a bit too close to me in my dream so he was a little scary, but i'm sure it is the friendliest pig you'll ever meet. happiest pig too.

janine | 7709 comments i had my first infomercial dream! it was not the most exciting infomercial, they just wanted to sell pills, but all the mentioned diseases were fake. i can't remember any of their names though. they did have cool animations of intestines. the intestines obviously were very happy with the pills.

message 156: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments you're really good at remembering your dreams, janine!

message 157: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I love how janine says "I had my first informercial dream!" like she's been waiting for it, wondering when that first informercial dream will arrive...

message 158: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree RA, it was almost like she was dreaming of having an infomercial dream that came true.

message 159: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i was actually expecting my lost-in-the-supermarket nightmare, i have no idea why, so it was more an expression of surprise.

remembering dreams becomes easier when you practice. and i practice a lot. it also helps to think back to your dream right after you woke up, and try to put it in words.

message 160: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments yeah I read yours a couple of days ago and it reminded me that I had a similar one. But otherwise I wouldn't have remembered it.

janine | 7709 comments tonight i had a speed skating dream. i must have been watching too much of the olympics.

message 162: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments I dreamed the other night that I lost two of my molars. I had them in hand and was trying to keep track of them - I set them down on a table. I don't remember much else of all that dream, but the tooth thing really stuck with me. (Guess I need to practice remembering my dreams, like janine) I remember hearing once before that dreaming of losing teeth is a bad thing.

message 163: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments when you said 'i was trying to keep track of them' i thought you meant they were running around, using their roots for legs :)

message 164: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments No, I kept setting them down and then having to find them. It was part of the action of the dream, there was a lot going on but I can't remember what.

The other thing is that I frequently dream from the perspective of other people - or, at least, I am not myself in the dream. I can't remember if that was the case the other night, but I'm pretty sure those were my teeth and that I was me.

message 165: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I had a strange dream last night that seemed to be something with which I was familiar, and yet I don't remember ever dreaming it before.

The details are rather meaningless right now, and defy the use of language to describe -- but that's the way most of my dreams are.

All I can clearly recall is that I had taken on responsibilty for a whole raft of things -- things that seemed to be self-replicating and growing out of control. I remember knowing that it would take a lot of work on my part to meet all of the obligations that were falling on me -- and that there were no excuses for failing to do so.

I was pleased to wake up and realize that I only had a few things to take care of.

janine | 7709 comments last night i dreamt i found a new index finger for my right hand. there was something wrong with the old one so it had to be replaced. i have no idea where i found the new one, maybe just on the floor somewhere, i know i didn't buy it. the problem was i had to remove old one before i could use the new one. i used scissors and there was a lot of blood but the old finger wouldn't come off.

message 167: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments ahhghght!

message 168: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I sliced the end of my finger off yesterday -- so Janine's latest dream is a little too close to home for me right now.

message 169: by [deleted user] (new)

OK, somebody has to ask, what were you doing Larry?

message 170: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments maybe he was experimenting with grafting.

message 171: by [deleted user] (new)

Good point Janine, planning ahead.

message 172: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Self grafting. Yup. And slicing potatoes.

message 173: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments larry + potato = ?

message 174: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yes -- I need more eyes.

message 175: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments eyes? that can be arranged.

message 176: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Alien eyes?

message 177: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i think mr potato head eyes are more appropriate.

message 178: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh yes of course. How silly of me.

message 179: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments this dream has kitties! and a needle.

i had to give one of our cats, elmo, an injection. usually with him that's not really a problem, but there was no one to hold him and he was looking like and behaving like a miniature lion. it took a few tries, but he got his injection. then for some reason i put him in the oven, just for a short while, and when i let him out he was normal again. i decided to put the other cats, belle and tiktak, also in the oven. i forgot about them so they were in there for too long and when i finally remembered they didn't want to come out. elmo (he is like a mother to the other two) was very sad and worried.

message 180: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Kitties in the oven, Janinine!

message 181: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i don't think i turned it on, but i am not sure.

message 182: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Go back and check!

message 183: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments oops, burnt kittie ...

message 184: by Félix (last edited Feb 27, 2010 06:59AM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) Just a little around the edges.

Wait! Missing an arm!

message 185: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments that's not my fault, i swear!

message 186: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Did Mr. Yummy eat it?

message 187: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments we just found him one way with a destroyed and bloody arm, it was probably done by a car. mr yummy's teeth are not strong enough to chew on bones, i think.

message 188: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Aw. Poor guy. I'm glad you found him.

message 189: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments he thought he had found the perfect corner to die, but we love him too much to let him do that. there were no internal bleedings so we had the vet remove his arm and shoulder blade. now he's as good as new again, except for the missing arm.

message 190: by Félix (last edited Feb 27, 2010 08:06AM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) He's beautiful. What's his name?

message 191: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments that is tiktak aka tricycle.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Awww, he's cute, Janine! Tiktak, the tripod cat. :)

message 193: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Dawww!!! Cute TikTak.

My grandfather had a 3 legged dalmation on his farm. His name was "Spot" - someone dumped him on the side of the highway in front of my grandparents' farm. Spot was very well loved and VERY active. :)

janine | 7709 comments 'metamorphoses' by e. ninja

my brother has a horse. it is a very fast horse and it just won a race so we decided it needed to go to better stables and a better trainer. because this is a very elite facility there was a meeting where we had to make our case. at this meeting the horse turned into a woman with a very long neck. the meeting went well and my brother's horse was moved. after a few weeks we visited the horse to see how it was doing. all the horses there had turned into loaves of bread but we couldn't find my brother's horse. suddenly, while we were still at the stables, a boy had to be operated. the stable owners were somehow evil and i had to steal a nurse's uniform and had to pretend to be a nurse. the boy was half frozen, covered in scales like an insect and there were green things growing inside him that looked like moss. the others had to leave for some reason and i stayed behind to watch the boy. he had turned into a cat and looked almost normal. after that i was looking at a bridge. there were no railings and a boy on a tricycle was going to fall into the river. i knew that if that happened he would die but i couldn't help him. instead of falling he began to fly, still on his tricycle.

message 195: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Fascinating, Janine.

message 196: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments gosh I'm ashamed of my lame-in-comparison dream but here it is: My friend got a tattoo of a cardinal on one wrist and a toucan with a star for an eye on the other. I said "Sam the Toucan! Like on the fruit loops commercial" and she got pissed off at me. The rest of the dream we me trying to convince her that it just popped out and I didn't mean anything by it.

message 197: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments you were very lucky it was only a dream.

message 198: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments and so is she! Toucan tattoo on the wrist!

What's wrong with toucan tattoos on the wrist?!! I have one on my right forearm.

message 200: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Nothing. But my friend hates birds!!

(You're not gonna get me that easy, Heidi!)
