I was with the four children of Diane Sawyer and Mike Nichols, except they had the last name Storm. One of them had just gotten a prestigious media internship or job, and I thought, "Oh, of course, because it's Diane Sawyer's kid." One of them was named Butterfield, after Fox Butterfield. Diane Sawyer was sitting on a barstool on a Manhattan sidewalk, with her back to the sidewalk, facing into some store or restaurant. William Greider came up to her and said hi. I said, "Hi, Mr. Greider." He said hi, but not very enthusiastically, because Diane was so much more important.

Janice (jamasc) Last night, in my dreams, I was driving while reading a novel. At some point, I realized I hadn't looked up at the road in a while and gave myself a fright.

message 605: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) LOL! That's cute. So much for hoping you can feed her onions.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments My high school boyfriend was in my dream. Mostly I remember he was wearing his dorky beige plaid suit he wore for high school Debate contests. I told him I'd been to Hawaii and had wished he had been there too.

Last night I had a very vivid dream nightmare. I was called into my bosses office. He told me he knew I hadn't been working hard enough and that they no longer wanted my services. I asked when he wanted me to finish up, he said this afternoon would be fine.

That's not a good dream...

Nup. I'm currently sitting in my office feeling a little nervous.

Félix (habitseven) That must be scary, Gail.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I think my dream was inspired by TC! There was a thread yesterday where several of us admitted to scratching, poking, pinching our babies (BY MISTAKE.) In my dream I had taken my daughter to camp, and found myself enchanted by a 1-year-old baby girl. The baby's mom put me in charge of her child and I managed to feed her lunch, then lose her. Woke up sweaty and in a panic.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Yikes. Sometimes I can spell. Merci, Phil.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments :( Cynthia, I have those kind of dreams aout my babysitting charges on occasion, except it usually happens when I can't seem to wake up because I feel sedated in the dream so I'm not paying attention to my charge. They're awful!

Last night, I had a crazy vivid dream about an ex, the fourth one I've had in the past several months. In my dream, he tells me he wants to leave his wife (they started dating after us IRL) and kids for me, and as much as I'd love to have him back in my life, in the dream, I encourage him to return to his family and try to work it out because his kids need him to try. But then he tells me he tried for years and he's tired of trying to make it happen. Typically I just ignore them. In last night's dream, I was hanging with my two batchelor buddies who bought some property to rent out and were giving me the grand tour. Ex showed up there in the dream and tells me he left his wife (no kids in the dream, this time) and wants to prove to everyone he's serious about proving his feelings for me and then he showed up at my friends' property which was under renovation. He had built some cabinets and drawers to go into some custom made built-ins for my friends' rental property. He made them as gifts/housewarming for my friends. I was stunned. They were gorgeous and immensely thoughtful. And in my dream, I hugged him and breathed in his smell. It was always so comforting to me. When I woke from the dream, I could still sort of "smell" his scent. I don't ever reach out to him even though we are friends on FB. And when I woke this morning, I went to his page... you know, just to check his wall for recent posts or something that would indicate he was well and good and happy, for my peace of mind. He had posted two pics recently of carpentry projects he's done or his wife. They were amazing. What was esp. weird about it is that I had no idea he did carpentry and that he was as good with it as he is. He never messed with it when I knew him. These dreams are weirding me out.

I was in a Starbucks that was more like a restaurant, with booths along the walls. They were selling rolls of cloth ribbon at half price, the kind Martha Stewart would use to wrap gifts. I decided to get a cup of coffee and a roll of blue ribbon with tiny white dots. As I'm waiting for my coffee, I see the barista, an Asian girl, perhaps Cambodian, dip a piece of toast in it. I say to another barista, "I need a different cup of coffee. She just dipped toast in it." So I'm waiting for a fresh cup. Finally, I get it and start drinking. At the bottom of the cup is the roll of blue ribbon I just bought. I'm furious and I say to the manager, "You are going to give me a lunch and a cup of coffee, free. Now." The manager says, "Okay, but all we have left is tuna." So I wait, a long time. As I'm waiting, I'm telling the story about the coffees to some people who have gathered around me. Then the manager comes on the store intercom and says, "No more tuna left."

message 618: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh God no tuna.

message 619: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) That's what you get for turning Starbucks into a restaurant. You'll get blue ribbon and no tuna.

Apparently! I like the way my dream helped me remember its details, by having me recount my troubles to an audience. When I woke up I remembered every detail because I'd just been "talking" about it.

I suspect this dream is related to the fact that I've been drinking instant Via for the past two days rather than my regular coffee. I have some packets that are about to expire and I hate to waste them.

message 621: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I didn't realize Via packets came with an expiration date. I just had a cup of it this afternoon--not bad for instant.

For some reason they tasted better to me when I drank them back in October. They expire in May. They have a strange, woody taste.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments And now you're telling to a new audience... you sure you're awake, LG?

message 625: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) I dreamed that I received a refund from Canada Revenue Agency (yup, only in my dreams would that happen). It was around $9000. I decided to not tell my husband and put it in a savings account that I had in another bank. I walked up the steps of the bank and in through the front doors. There was Patrick Swayze greeting people. I went over to the male teller who was quite starstruck by Patrick. He took my cheque and told me I couldn't deposit it because it was made out to both my husband and I. He would forward the cheque to our bank which would take a few days. I was annoyed and worried that it would even get there.

Effyocouch | 55 comments Can't quite remember the dream, but when I was startled awake by my insomniac wife finally getting to bed, I made an odd comment that made perfect sense at the time. "I could act like a pirate for a couple hours if it would help at all."

Scarlett Johanssen was really, really irritated with me because (according to her) I was too close to her and Sean Penn, who were trying to have an intimate moment. I think I may have been waiting for an elevator. Once I heard her bitching, I decided to stand there longer.

message 631: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I would have done the same. Maybe not for the same reason.

message 632: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I agree Larry, that Sean Penn is really something to look at.

message 633: by [deleted user] (new)

Yup, Larry likes his men with a lot of character.

message 634: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Like Jim.

message 635: by [deleted user] (new)

Obviously!

message 636: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Hey now, what are you guys implying. That I would ever go for a low character guy?

Félix (habitseven) Well, yeah!

Gabby, in this dream even you, gentleman that you are, would probably have punched Scarlett in the gizzard.

message 639: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I was just joking wwith Larry Gabby, I kneww he meant Scarlett.

message 640: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments where exactly is a gizzard located?

message 641: by [deleted user] (new)

I could help you out Janine if she was a chicken.

message 642: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments pigeon? duck?

no luck?

message 643: by Félix (last edited May 03, 2011 12:07PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) The gizzard is part of the gastrointestinal track. Chickens ingest gravel and keep it in there to help with grinding up grains that would otherwise be hard to digest.

How's that for pedantic?

message 644: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments meh. i already knew that.

message 645: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Figures.

message 646: by Janice (new)
