I'm 2 book behind schedule. I started late, but I'll catch up when I'm done with Through The Looking Glass and The Prince, which I'm planning to read afterwards.
I was way ahead of schedule due to the seemingly endless winter this year. But I keep resetting my goal. Right now I'm at 59%. That's a comfortable lead. :)
I am 6 books ahead (34% done with 23 books).Sorry if I'm not very active in the group but I don't forget my challenge and to update the monthly thread with our reading progress!
What will happen if I will finish my 68 books I have challenged myself to read? If I'll be able to read more books will they be counted if I add them to my shelf for this challenge?
Your widget will be full but will continue to count books. Last year my goal was 50, but it recorded to 54 I managed to read.

I hope to be able to read more books than the 68 of my challenge and in this way help the group to reach also more than 10'000 books!
Mine says:You have read 35 out of 100 books
35%
10 books ahead of schedule.
Wish I could figure out how much time it is allowing for each book. My books vary greatly in number of pages and the difficulty levels.
7 books behind schedule. Thank god that I have like 3 months off in Summer, and my University degree compromises of reading a hell load of books.
Hopefully I'll get back into reading this month.

It's amazing how quickly it happens, isn't it? Mine is still stuck at 2 books behind.

Managed to read 2 Shakespeare plays today, so 5 behind doesn't feel so bad.
You'll get there, Faye! :D

Right now it says 49 of 75 which is 65% of my goal. I've reset my goal twice, but I want to leave it alone for a while. It's too typical of me to keep upping the ante until I don't reach the final goal.
Also, 36 of these are audio books. If I only counted the eyeball reads i'd be woefully behind. (Or maybe I'd just have kept my original goal.)
Anyway, all this reading (and listening) makes my brain happier than it has been in a long time. :)

According to my widget, I have read 30 books and I am 8 behind schedule (I know that I have at least 2 books that I haven't added, so at some point I will have to fix that). February was a tough month but I thought March I would be back in form. Had a short vacation planned and was really looking forward to some reading on my flights and lazy days. On day 2 of the vacation I stumbled and busted my knee and it all went downhill from there, culminating in surgery last week. So much for the "best laid plans of mice and men"! Everything is taking longer, and sometimes pain makes it hard to concentrate. I have decided to cut myself some slack and take it as it comes. Whatever feels enjoyable and manageable is what I will do :)Seems like most people are on track/ahead. That's great!
Karen, everyone seems to have been struggling over the last few months, I know I definitely have!
I hope your knee gets better soon! Surgery sounds serious :(

3 books ahead now, and yes, it's nice :)

Eek, I'm sorry to hear that, Karen!

Earlier this week mine said I was way, way ahead. So I changed my goal from 30 to 50, which is a little more of an actual challenge! Who knew starting to commute further to work would increase my reading pace so much.So with my newly increased reading challenge goal, my widget says I'm on track at 28% :)
6 books ahead and I'm over half way through my challenge! depending on how well it goes over the next couple months, I may change my goal, too! (exciting! I've never had to do that before!)
26 books ahead, read 50 out of 85. The Genre Challenge has sparked my reading craze, which has been fun; but I'm really not getting much done elsewhere. :)
Crikey Melissa and James! That's definitely speedy reading!
I'm glad the Genre challenge has sparked so much interest you, Melissa. I was worried people wouldn't be very interest in it!

Renee wrote: "Way to go, Mayme and Lucy! It feels so good to be able to increase that goal!"Thanks!
Major kudos to you guys pulling the big numbers!
I'm still not over the novelty of finding so many people that read in one place :D
You know Mayme, I was thinking the same thing, but wishing we could all be sharing a glass of wine (or sake) :), sitting in the same library on really cozy sofas with our favorite books and sharing our views. I know, just day dreaming in a perfect world.
I've read 27 of 65 and I'm 9 books ahead of schedule. March really pulled me under - I was going to increase my goal to 100 based on my Jan/Feb progress but now I need to see how April goes.I'm really happy to see that everyone is making amazing progress! I have to say, it's pretty motivating to be a part of such a great group.

I was just thinking the same thing, Kassandra - I've read more books since I've been a part of this group than I had in years!
I agree with Kassandra and Amy. I just finished my 45th book this year. Last year, with no goal set, I did not finish my 45th until June 19. Anyway, I am still +2.
Widget says I'm 34 books ahead.... not sure if I want to up my goal which is evidently deeply unrealistic or just smash it by a huge number of books.... any thoughts?
Rob wrote: I agree with Kassandra and Amy... 45 books already - that's awesome Rob!
Becky wrote: Widget says I'm 34 books ahead...
Becky, I would say it depends on how you're feeling. If you're still feeling motivated and then I vote for upping it! I think you will see even better results come year end if you're stretching yourself to meet a goal, rather than smash one.
Faye, Holly, Sandy - thanks for your kind wishes :) Turns out they found more damage than anticipated and it looks like I will be recovering for a bit longer than I thought. On the bright side I have finished 6 books so far this month so I guess it's helping my reading goals!I'm with Melissa. The genre challenge is a great idea and has really helped me discover some new reads that I might not otherwise have tried.
Now if only I can get ahead of my widget. I'm not so ambitious as to aim for for 34(!!!) ahead but congratulations to all of you who are on track :)

I'm sorry to hear that, Karen! But that is an awesome bright side. :)

I so jealous of everyone ahead!
I'm 3 books behind, and not panicking. I'm expecting to get further behind over the next few months due to exams, but then I'll have like 3 months to read. Plus my Uni course covers something like 3 to 4 books a week.
(That's if I pass all my exams and get in, of course)

I expect to be no so far ahead a month or two from now. I have a few big books I am going to read this year that I haven't gotten to yet.
I am 6 books ahead of schedule but I only chose 20 for the year which I am thinking now was probably not enough. I am amazed at how many books other people on here have read already and are planning to read. I am a mere amateur!
Sarah wrote: "...I am amazed at how many books other people on here have read already and are planning to read. I am a mere amateur! "
Same here. I have also seen the opposite where some people will post lofty goals and barely get a dozen books read in the year, or they will only set a dozen or two as their goal and then read less than 5 books if any.
I pushed my goal from 25 to 45, oddly, still two books ahead! If I make as much progress in May as I made in April I may even push it up to 52 (so I can make it one book a week for the year).(:
I've read 13 out of 24 and I'm 6 books ahead, but I'm not going to increase my goal until I'm very close to completing it.
I recently increased my goal from 65 to 80 books so now I'm only 6 books ahead. It has given me a little push to read more because I miss being 10-12 books ahead!
