Sally woke in the middle of the ocean. She was on a raft, just big enough for her to move around. Her dress was soaked in saltwater and her skin felt crusty, peeling and blistered. She couldn't look at the sun, it was much too bright. Instead, she looked at the horizon. In the distance, there was a shape. The water seemed to push and pull her towards it and she took a rough, ragged breath in through a dry mouth. She floated closer, and could just make out a figure standing on a dock. Too exhausted to call out, she merely let herself float up, adjusting her glasses and blinking slowly, trying to ignore the pain on her skin and the salt in her hair and the awfulness of even the slightest movement.
Sally coughed, her throat dry. She grimaced and sat up, removing her glasses and taking a second to breathe. "Thanks," she croaked, smoothing out her crumpled, wrinkled dress and looking around, trying to keep her movements slight. She blinked and rubbed her head. "Where- what is this place?" she asked, trying to conjure from her mind where she might be. There was nothing. She tried to think of where she was supposed to be. Blank. Who she was- that was one she knew. She was Sally and she... she...Sally let her hand fall to her side. "What's going on?" she whispered.
Sally frowned. "Why- what- who-"She had so many questions, but she had a sinking feeling she wouldn't be getting answers. She folder her arms stiffly, coughing. Instead of asking more questions that this girl clearly wouldn't want to answer, she snatched the water bottle form the other girl's hand and chugged it. She hadn't realized how thirsty she was until she started drinking and didn't want to stop. Once she'd drank the entire bottle, she wiped her mouth and tried to brush off her face and hair. Sorry for taking your water," she added. "I was really thirsty-" She glanced at the dark orb that flickered in the other girl's and. "What- uh, what was that?" she asked under her breath, half expecting the other girl not to hear her.
