She smiled sadly at him, shrugging it off. "It's okay... Trust me.... I mean, if Mace found out that he messed with me today he wouldn't be at school tomorrow and Mace might be suspended." SHe hung her head, "Again." She rubbed her head, trying to get out of the dark thoughts in front of her new friend. She tilted her head up to look at him. She smiled though, this one a small one, but it was better than before. "I'm excited to go and see all of the little animals. I'm holding the dang chick."

Luke didn't answer when she explained how Mace has gotten suspended before when he gotten suspended for fighting. He smiled at the idea of her holding a cute little chick in her hand. "Yeah being the sweet girl you are I know all the animals will love you. I can tell you all their names of the animals and if you want help me brush some of them. We could go also horse ridding too if you want." He gave her a shy smile rubbing the back of his neck, "We can do whatever you want at the farm."
She smiled softly, "I'm a hard rocker female! I'm anything but sweet!" She said in fake anger only to giggle after. She shrugged, blushing a bit. "All of that sounds like a dream. I'll probably love all of them and want to take them all home with me." She laughed and shrugged again. She looked much happier talking about the animals. "I've never ridden a horse before... So you'd have to teach me how."
He found himself laugh at her joke knowing that even though she looked like a total rocker chick, she was really one of the nicest girls he had ever met. He smiled at the thought of her wanting to take all their animals home. "Don't worry I'll teach you everything I know about riding horses and since it will be your first time, you can ride with me. It will be fun." Luke smiled at her knowing she was going have a blast this afternoon and maybe she could even stay for dinner if her mom let her.
She smiled softly at him and nodded to him, "Alright. I hope you don't have any problem with personal space if I ride with you." She smiled and winked at him. The class started soon after and made her stay quiet, though she often whispered jokes to him about the things the teacher said. She was bored for most of the history class, she already knew everything from this class from her grandmother being a teacher.
Being amused most of the class when Alexia whispering jokes under her breath to him, he realized that history might be his favorite class of the day now since it was the only class he had with her. Luke suddenly heard the bell ring indicating that school was finally over. He quickly packed up his things before standing up and waiting for Alex. "So do you need to stop by anywhere before we leave or are you good?"
Al looked over at him when class was over and nodded, "Yeah, I have to go say bye to Ro and Mace before we head out." She said, rubbing her arm that was covered with the sleeve of her rolled up button down. She stood up, grabbing her stuff and slinging it over her shoulder. She seemed fine, though it was obvious she was stalling until Lance was out of the room so she didn't have to look at him as they walked out. She wasn't someone who usually avoided people like that, but he was a special case that she wished would just vanish.
Luke nodded his head in agreement before noticing her hesitation to leave. His eyes finally locked on Lance noticing he was still in the room chatting up some girl. It made him sick how he could act like that to women. He quickly jumped over his desk getting on idea so now he was standing directly next to Ali with a smile, "We shouldn't leave our friends waiting." He quickly took her hand linking their fingers together, "Don't worry about that jerk anymore. He'll have to get through me to get to you now and he's just some city slicker. I can take him." He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze before leading her towards the front of the room not scared of that stupid guy at all since he had ridden a bull at a rodeo before. That was much more nerve racking than this Lance guy, who someone needed to teach a lesson or two.
Al looked up at him as he jumped over the desk and went over to her, taking her hand in his. Her heart hammered in her chest, though it caused a small smile to form over her lips. She usually didn't need protection, but she was happy when she had it because she wasn't afraid of asking and accepting help from her friends. She nodded, "Alright, let's go." She walked out with him, Lance sending them death glares as they did. She walked out in the hall and glanced back at the class, sighing softly, "He's been doing this since we were in middle school." She said, "He's never changed."
Luke flashed him an equally ugly look as they walked past him unable to understand a acted like that. Once they got to the hall he looked over at Ali, as she told him more about this Lance guy. "It's a real shame when guys don't treat ladies right. Honestly someone should teach him a lesson or two about manner. My ma would kill me for treating a girl like that." He noticed they had been holding hands and quickly let go because his own hand was getting clammy. He gave her a shy smile as he apologized, "Sorry." He realized that that was probally first time he had held a girl's had who wasn't related to him and found himself a little embarressed.
Al looked up at him and shrugged, "Yeah, that's the city though. Everyone is treated like that, even if it's seemed that only the chicks get targetted like that." She said, rolling her eyes. "Mace went through it when we were in middle school, too. Still does sometimes." She sighed, "But the people who bugged him went away since they moved." She said, shrugging again. She didn't really notice they were holding hands until he took his hand back, making her look down at hers. She didn't mind though, who would want to get the wrong idea of a relationship on the first day? That would suck.She looked up to see Mace, busting into a run and jumping on his back, laughing happily. "You're not leaving without saying goodbye!" She yelled loudly.
He looked up at her, laughing and reaching around, rubbing her head. "Hey, how was last hour?" He asked, looking over at Luke. "Did you enjoy it?"
Luke nodded before saying, "Huh, city people are sure different than someone like me, who grew up in the country and went to a tiny school." Suddenly Ali took off in a run before jumping on Mace's back and he found himself jogging after her until he caught up wih them. Shoving his hands in his pocket he gave a mild shrug answering "Yeah, I guess so since Ali kept me entertained most of the class which kept me from falling asleep."
Ali smiled as she snuggled onto Mace's back, though Ro just sat next to them, holding Mace's hand since there was a bench right there. She smiled at Luke when he shrugged.Mace nodded, "Yeah, that's what she does in all of her classes." He laughed. "She's kinda a class clown. Get used to it." He winked. He did love his best friend with a passion and how funny she was, but he sometimes wondered if she got anything done.
Al laughed, rolling her eyes at him. "Oh come on, I'm hilarious and make history interesting!" She said, poking him in the cheek and jumping down from his back. "You should try it sometime. Ro might actually start liking you then.
"Cold." Mace hissed.
"It's true." ro said with a wink and grin.
Luke laughed at their teasing words towards each other. It was obvious to him that the three of them were really close to each other. He looked down at his watch before realizing the time. He had to pick up David and Lizzy from elementary school and their teacher hated to wait with them for him always scolding him for being late. Maria was probally already at the truck waiting for him to get there. "We better get going Ali. My little brother and sister are waiting for me to pick them up." He gave Ro and Mace a wave goodbye adding, "I'll see you guys tomorrow then."
Ali looked up to her friend as he said that they were going to have to get going. She looked up to the clock and nodded to him. "Alright." She took a step back from her other friends and then started with her new friend.Mace waved, "Don't get her pregnant! I really don't want to be an Uncle Mace!"
Ro laughed but punched him, "Be nice! You're the reason she can never get a boyfriend."
"Good. Dammit, Guys are gross."
She laughed, "Yeah, and you're the worst of them all."
"Damn right I am!"
Ali laughed as she walked with Luke, rolling her eyes, "She's not wrong." She winked, turning on her heels as they made their way out of the school towards wherever Luke was taking her.
