she had a birthday, and Will went to her parents house to celebrate. she was feeding him as she normally does, and her boyfriend thought it inappropriate, and told her she had to quit her job. she refused. then they had a marathon sex session so that he could prove to her that he was better than Will. *sigh* she should really dump him. A much better book about people with disability is this: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1062... It actually sees life as it is, with good and bad. And the people in this novel actually care about the person with the problem, not just go around and toss him from one stranger to another.

From what I've read so far, I feel this author didn't really live or meet a person in Will's condition.

I felt like it took way too long to get the good part. I put it down a couple of times. I mean it is pretty predictable, so even if I don't finish it ...I know what happened at the end. Also, I liked the main character, but she was taken advantage of a lot.

Did Alicia actually really try to get through to Will for months? He has been mean and bitter so far I could understand how she couldn't take it any longer. Do you guys feel Lou is selfish as well? Up until now I think she has been acting reasonable given her circumstances...
Every other female in this book is selfish. I agree about that. The males just seem to be in the background going 'meh, let the ladies deal with it all'.

I think everyone in this book was selfish. Patrick only cared about what he wanted, and the same for Lou's sister, and later in the book Will's sister too. Will was definitely selfish, and Lou wasn't much better.

God damn it, I'm glad I didn't finish this book, but I'm also so sad for these characters, selfish as they might be... maybe because everyone around them was like that they just didn't know any better. :(

(view spoiler)[ Yikes, that horse racing trip was a disaster. What more could go wrong! What was Lou thinking when she asked the drunk guys for help :S? Will was too rude at the end of it all though. Instead of being all moody and saying if she'd bothered to consult him she would know he would hate it, he could have said something when they arrived at the racecourse? No one told him to keep quiet...Poor Lou I feel like she's everyone's punching bag :'( (hide spoiler)]

Will had brought up the concert and didn't mind accompanying Lou so the outing felt natural and not forced like the racecourse one.
