When did they meet? How? Do their parents approve? Do they get along with the others' surrounding friends as well? What's their history together? If some random person had to describe them, how would they picture them? Like salt and pepper? Fire and ice? Ting to yang? Why does their friendship work? Is one of them introverted and the other extroverted? Is one badass and the other a conservative? Do they each share an alike trait? By the way, if this is YA in the US, and takes place in highschool, the guy would be old enough to be in his 2nd year of college. So how do they meet around a lot? Basically, your question is more of A character development question, that would be properly assessed once you know what you want your characters to be like, and mean to each other, etc. Have fun exploring:) Hope this helps:)

Nuzhat Yousuf (shababa51) | 47 comments Thnx a lot! And they live together plus the guy's parents died. And they were friends with the girl's parents so the guy moves in after their death :)

Philip (phenweb) | 75 comments Does the relationship go somewhere i.e. sexual or sexual attraction or does it stay platonic. Is he an elder brother type? If they are in the same house there are bound to be conflicts and jealousies. What about boy and girlfriends for them both. How do her parent's treat him having taken him in?

Nuzhat Yousuf (shababa51) | 47 comments Not elder brother type and the girl's parents love him a lot. Conflicts and jealousies? I didn't get that part :)

Philip (phenweb) | 75 comments Conflict, space in the house staying out different treatment boy and girl by the girls parents - usual sibling type even if not siblings

Jealousies - jealous of his freedom due to age, perhaps he has money from his inheritance. Even where they sit and eat in the house. Does he get bigger food portions.

Why are they friends - the age difference high school to college/university age. Another conflict perhaps he likes her female friends perhaps she likes his male friends.

The really good friendship you ask about as Ingrid posted they have to have something in common, dance, music, favourite tv, movie something that they can talk about. The culture outside the USA may play a part dependent on your setting.

Nuzhat Yousuf (shababa51) | 47 comments Hmm I'll have to think more about it and I forgot to mention that the girl falls in love with the guy and the guy falls in love much later on as he has a girlfriend ( who cheats)!

I think this YA Romance is definitely interesting. Why did you say in another thread that you didn't think it was broad enough? The residential twist can be tricky. Because since he's older, probably wiser, and fully developed as a man, he may be more protective, and attracted to the girl. (Logistics) What's the girlfriend's thoughts on them living together? I say to take awhile to plan these things. It doesn't need to be perfect, trust me. There are plenty of characteristic profiles online for that sorta thing, especially on the nanowrimo site.
I would advise you to avoid the YA cliches, such as the girl being thoughtless and always willing to throw herself in front of A bus for a guy, that sorta thing.

Nuzhat Yousuf (shababa51) | 47 comments Here is a short description

The girl falls first & at that time the guy has a gf who doesn't like the girl as they r close friends and thr gf will cheat on him and later on those two will be together finally! :)

Also Asher ( the guy) comes to live with Faith (girl) as his parents died and his parents were bestfriends with Faiths parents. He comes to finish his college here ( he is in his second yards now and before his parents died he used to live in a dorm, then his mom told him to move in Faith's) and they haven't met yet as they lived far but they heard about each other from their moms.
