San Diego forever, David! I might be coming there in the near future, I hope.
1. Will start writing new book this summer. Expect a thriller!
2. We're working on the script to Super Sad the TV show
3. I'm not against anything except violence and salmonella.
4. See above. May would be nice if it all works out.
Good luck with the Danube.

Thanks so much. Hit me up on Goodreads or Facebook and let me know whenever you have a planned trip to San Diego--seriously, dinner and drinks are all on us. At Pomegranate, the best Russian restaurant in town. (Although it might conflict with your salmonella prohibition...)
Gary, you just made my friend David's year by replying. Thanks so much for being an awesome writer. Our entire group of friends read Super Sad and really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading your next book once it comes out.

Thanks guys. Please follow me on twitter or facebook for more updates. If I come to San Diego it'll be UCSD hosting me.
Consider yourself followed! (But NOT in a creepy, stalker, I-may-already-have-fashioned-a-doll-from-your-discarded-hair-and-nail-clippings kind of way. Just on Facebook.)
Gary wrote: "Brian, I think there are better parents and worse parents. I think my own parents did the best they could with what they were given."Thanks! I think if I had finished the book before asking the question, I wouldn't have had my answer there: yes, they did the best they could and lived such difficult lives that it must've made it increasingly hard for them to make levelheaded decisions after such an experience.
Brian, I certainly understood more about my parents when I finished writing the book and loved them all the more for it.
Gary wrote: "RB, I think it was just James Franco and not Louis CK in my video. Unless, I'm missing something. In any case, James Franco was my student at Columbia. And he was a really good student!"I was wondering the same thing... I'm glad someone asked! (In my version, your agent had to go find him and convince him to do the trailer, which seemed like a funny story in itself.)

Four questions, in order of importance (I apologize if any are repeats from other people, I didn't find these questions above anywhere):
1. Do you have another fictional work in the pipeline anytime soon?
2. Any word of a movie adaptation of any of your books on its way?
3. What would you think of a "fan fiction" story being written (posted online only, not published), based on the world of Super Sad? Would you be против?
4. When are you coming to San Diego? Everyone of the SUK DIK gang wants to buy you vodka and shashlik at the Russian restaurant when you do.
Thanks for doing this forum, and thanks for allowing me to use your "this man is illiterate" comment on my crappy romance parody novel, "Pirates of the Danube".
