Characters that stick with you

Don't you love it when you read a book and a character is so real and so well thought out that you feel like you know them? My favorite books are those where I think about the character and story when I'm not reading it. I love it when a book becomes so real for me.

My favorite book characters are Grandma Dowdel from A Long Way from Chicago by Richard Peck and Auggie from Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Which characters are the most memorable from books you've read?
