How to get Book Reviews?

Also, how important do you think a book trailer would be?

I've never done one but have heard many writers say the impact is a bit mixed. If you pay for one to be done it can be big investment and there's no certain outcome from them. Unfortunately making one yourself can be just as likely to be a bit random on overall effect on sales. Sales seem to be more tied into how well you do your other PR and market your self as well as your book.

I figured, I don't think a Trailer is all that important for a book because there are no real snips for you to use. Its bits and pieces.

You need to do as many as you can, two is a start but not enough to get much traction. The idea behind doing interviews and book reviews is to get the word out there about your book, pay them by getting some traffic to their site and raising your own SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which raises the amount of solid links about your book come that up when the title or your name are looked up.

I see, thank you for your input. I'm gonna look for other bloggers now.

Yes and unless you have some really solid scenes you want to market it's not a really solid way to get attention. using the quotes section to share a scene or a few lines of your book on your author profile is a bit better way to do this.

Ooh alright, there are some scenes I can put up that I like! Can you tell it's my first official publishing? haha.

Ok :)

Hey everyone has to start somewhere. I learned a lot of this myself in April of last year when I got started. I got lucky and got picked up by a small press where I'm now an editor and do PR as well. Much luck on getting your book going!

One of them asked me what kind of review they wanted me to have, she's a writer and a reader. It made me think though; what types of reviews are beneficial to a books success?
I know that if many people comment negatively there's usually something to it, and I should re-look my works a bit and correct any issues to enhance reading but is there more?
I was wondering how other authors get reads, and feedback. Any tips?
