Sorry it took me a while, but I have finished the book. What a great story! Thanks so much for passing it along for me to read and enjoy! Now, I guess I have to stop and see what I can find to put in with the book!
Sarah, can you please PM me your address so I can get it off to you?
I've been obsessing (well, just a little bit) about what to put in the book to pass on. Hahhahha... Everytime I see anything possible, I wonder, ohhhhh, that might be cool to put in the book! I have my postcards picked out already. I keep changing my mind each time I see the postcard rack though so next week I may have picked something else. ;)
I need to go to the screen printing shop down the block from my house. They screen print Minneapolis post cards that are freaking awesome. I just have to figure out which ones to get! :D
My town pretty much just has the college and I used those with the first book. Maybe I should get some Pittsburgh or Pennsylvania cards the next time I go somewhere. Just to have some variety.

Wait what!? One of my best friends lives in Pittsburgh but she lived almost her whole life in a more rural part of PA near there. And she went to a college in the area. I now wonder if you know her... or if Karen could be related to her because I think you live where some of her family is and they go to visit. O_O
Yup. My friend went to Grove City College for a while, she had to leave college because of health issues but yup. *hums its a small world afteralllll*
Ok, 3 of us with Grove City ties!!?? *mouth hanging open*Anyone with a last name of Filer is related to my son, so sort of to me.
I feel left out. hahahaha Wait. Kaylani lives in MN now and that is where I hail from so I guess I feel better :)
Heidi, you'll just have to hang out in Western PA for a weekend or something. I did live in Kansas City, MO for a little while but other than that, it's been Western PA all of my life.
That is so so funny!! Love it :)People from Minnesota are AWESOME!!! I have several friends from there :) I know we are supposed to be natural enemies...but I just don't feel it ;)
I actually think it is more likely for people from WI and MN to be natural enemies than Iowa and Minnesota. Southern Minnesota and Iowa are basically the same place. haha.My oldest brother lives in Fairmont. I mean... it doesn't get much more Iowa in MN than Fairmont :P
And my brother lives in Southern Minnesota... and that is as close to Iowa as it gets. I also LOVE Iowa City. I miss going there for doctors appointments because it was SUCH a fun place.
There are also just a lot of really awesome quaint restaurants in Iowa. You guys like your food and I like you for liking your food.
And... I grew up in Wisconsin, and moved to Minnesota.
And I love Illinois. Our 'longer but still fairly short' road trips were mostly to Illinois... ALL OVER. Anything mildly historic or weird or fun in Illinois I probably was there as a kid.
My parents could make the 5 hour one way trip to Madison to/fro in a day if we needed... but Illinois always meant hotel.
LOL Everyone Iowan I've ever known has made fun of Minnesotians :) So I guess not really ENEMIES, more like entertaining rivals? I don't know! But everyone I've ever met that comes from there is super nice and friendly :) Minnesota is a great place, its really very beautiful, and the summers there are heaven :) Winters are way too cold for me, though!Iowa and Nebraska though....that is REAL state rivals, lol!!
I think Minnesotans like to tease people from Iowa... but its more like 'we are way to similar to not make fun of each other.' haha.
Minnesotans only REALLY hate people from WI. We just make fun of the way people from Iowa drive but there is no deep seeded hatred there :) Hey you Iowan's adopted our national football team from what I hear so you can't hate us too much. I miss Minnesota tons and go back 4-5 times per year. In fact I will be back in June for a visit. I live in IL but am not really a fan of it and MN will always have my heart. :)
Ahh! Heidi where do you visit when you come to MN?! I would totally be up for a 'lets get a coffee!!!' :DI will admit, being from WI, I do hate the minnesota vikings. However, I'm a Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Lynx, and Minnesota Swarm fan. (Hockey, WNBA, LaCrosse)
And the best thing about the vikings getting a new stadium is that we are getting a professional futball (soccer) team.
:D
I am from Winona Kaylani - it is in the southeast corner right next to the dreaded Iowa and WI! I can't wait to see the new Vikings stadium. I am so old I actually remember going to the Old Met - the outdoor stadium the Vikings and Twins played at before the Dome was built. I hated that Dome!
Ahh. my friend went to Winona .. the state school there. Its right across the river from La Crosse which is where I was born :) I live really close to downtown Minneapolis. Before the dome was taken down you could see it from some of the windows in the building. It caused so much freaking dust. I swear I hate that thing more and more as I have to dust ALL the time because shit is still settling from them combusting that thing.
I heard it is official that we got the bid for the 2018 superbowl! :D
but the vikings will be playing at the U of M field this next season. They are putting heaters in the ground so snow will melt and it wont be frozen tundra.
Kaylani - small world. Yup LaCrosse is only 20 minutes from my hometown :) I graduated from Winona State.
Heidi *Listen. I'll just keep talking anyway. * wrote: "Make up your mind Karen! hahahaha"Well, I ended up only buying 4 postcards. Since I'm way towards the end of the list, I may have to add more as I see "special" ones. This is one of my favorite parts of the "Around the World" books. ;-D
So Amanda and I have not yet heard from Sarah, and its been over a week, so I think we will move on to Jamie! If Sarah responds eventually, we'll put her back in the list :)SO, Jamie, if you could please message Amanda your address so she can send you the book! Thank you! :)
Okay, I talked to Amanda and she mailed the book out to Jamie last week! Jaime let us know when you get it :)
