Douglas (cudouglas) | 27 comments So, I've just begun reading Hadji Murat by Leo Tolstoy, and I began to muse that perhaps this would be an interesting book to discuss with my fellow readers. Would anyone in the Ricochet Book Club be keen on picking up this Novella with me?

It is a short work, just over 100 pages, and shouldn't take too long to read. In translations I find Tolstoy somewhat easier to read than Dostoevsky. Being a short work, I find a good, less intimidating work for those curious about Russian Literature.

If anyone is interested, reply here!

If no one replies, I'll assume a lack of interest or a plague of rampaging dinosaurs/zombies/zombie dinosaurs has devoured all.

Peter (peterc99) | 32 comments I found it on my shelves, in a collection titled The Death of Ivan Ilych and Other Stories. So far the extra foot of snow we picked up this afternoon is keeping the zombies at bay. So I'm in.

Douglas (cudouglas) | 27 comments Excellent! It's a short work, but let's shoot for reading it within the next two weeks, to give anyone else who wants to join in a chance to read it. Does starting discussion about March 3rd sound good?

Tom Meyer (tomdmeyer) | 4 comments Tolstoy wrote something under 1,000 pages? For realzies?

Peter (peterc99) | 32 comments March 3 sounds good. I will read through it in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone else want to jump on this?

Wrote several short stories, actually!

Douglas (cudouglas) | 27 comments I can post over on Ricochet Proper to grab anyone who might not check Goodreads often.

Maggi McKenzie (maggimc) | 1 comments Don't think I have this anywhere in the vast pile. I see a $1.49 Kindle edition. I should be able to squeeze it in between Middlemarch and various Regency romances. ;-)

Kelly-Louise | 8 comments Count me in! I loved Anna Karenina when I read it several years ago, but haven't read anything else by him. I should be able to start it within a couple of days.

Hear, hear! Karenina is one of my favorites. Gotta try to get to War and Peace this year, even if it does hamper progress on my Goodreads Challenge.

Boomerang | 2 comments I just ordered it from the library. If I get it in time, I'm in! -- I don't know how to get Goodreads to recognize my Ricochet moniker...which is Boomerang. Does anyone know?
