Trying to add this book to our book club's list, and I notice that the modernized (current time) adaptation from the BBC Television show is attached to the original Arthur Conan Doyle (1890s) edition. I think an argument can be made that these are two completely different stories/books even though author credit was (rightfully) given to ACD. It's sort of annoying because the list keeps populating with the cover from the TV show instead of the classic version.
From the description I get the impression that the book is the original story, and just marketed to the Sherlock audience by using this cover and the introduction by Martin Freeman. If it had been an adaptation, the adapter's name would (should) have been mentioned on the cover. Worldcat also treats this as a new edition of the same book.
