Niran | 681 comments ((It's okay))

Rina saw the ship ahead, and that was the ship that they were going to somewhat attack.
She did what others were doing, helping with sails or preparing to take the ship and whatever it had in it. She was excited for it, her first raid with a crew. She felt her adrenaline jump.
Hopefully she wouldn't stall. Though she knew this was her area of expertise, she had fought and stole and baffled throughout the years.
She looked up to the Captain and then looked to the Quartermaster, seeing them as very calm and confident.
"I think you're gonna like this, mate", Pete chuckled.
"Oh, I very much will", Rina smirked.

Ruth | 517 comments Anton's hand strayed to the hilt of his sword, eagerly waiting as they gained on the merchant vessel. He saw its sailors scrambling around the deck, readying cannons and lowering sails, trying to gain more speed. There wasn't much point. Hardly a ship in the sea could beat the Poseidon's Luck for speed.
"Do we fire, captain?" Anton asked.
"Hold for now. We will get a broadside in before we board her." Captain Pierre replied.
"Aye, sir." They were almost alongside it now. "Ready the cannons!" He shouted to the crew. "Hold fire!"

message 53: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Pete has dragged Rina towards one of the canons, just him and her as they heard the orders from the Quartermaster and Captain.
"She's called Lassy", Pete introduced her.
Rina patted the canon and gave a slight smile to Pete, though he was paying close attention to the other ship.
Rina had one hand on the canon, and her other hand in her pocket, looking for her knives. She didn't want sit behind and watch, she wanted to be involved in the action. Besides, she was good at fighting, so why shouldn't she be involved?
Tension filled the ship and crew as they awaited their orders.

message 54: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "Steady..." Captain Voulain said, never blinking as he watched the other ship.
Anton felt the adrenaline building up, and the tenseness with the crew.
"FIRE!" The captain finally shouted, and Anton was quick to echo.
"Fire!" He ran down the stairs and onto the deck, pulling out his sword with his left hand, the dominant one, and his pistol with his right. The boom of the cannons was deafening, and through the smoke he saw the side of the merchant vessel splinter. "Prepare to board!"

message 55: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Everything happened extremely fast.
Suddenly everyone was firing the canons and explosions were happening, suddenly people had gotten their weapons out and were boarding the enemy ship.
Pete just chuckled as if he was having the time of his life, and that somewhat helped Rina's mood. It excited and thrilled her so much more than usual.
"Go get those bastards, Randall", Pete encouraged, continuing to chuckle.
Rina gave a small smile and a respectful nod.
She got up, seeing most of the crew preparing to board the ship, they waited until they were extremely close to throw a plank across both ships. Then people started to walk across, and both crews exclaimed in battle.
Rina thought no more, she walked across the plank and was confronted by an enemy crew member. He charged himself at her and she quickly dodged until she finally stabbed him in the chest. She went through a lot of them like that, dodging, punching, kicking and stabbing or throwing her knives.

message 56: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton was among the first over. In a flurry of shots and blows he took down sailor after sailor, laughing maniacally as he did. This was the life. He barely felt as a bullet tore through his shoulder, his adrenaline was pumping so hard. The last shot in his pistol fired, he tossed it to the side and took on the rest with his sword. Three came at him at the same time, and for a fatal moment Anton forgot to watch his surroundings. They backed him up against the wall of the ship.

message 57: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina hadn't been paying much attention to her new crew as she battled past the enemy quickly. Though once she was finished killing one of them she looked around at her crew members to see if any needed help.
She the Quartermaster, against the ship wall by three of the enemies, blocked in.
She pushed past people but made sure that when she got close enough she snuck up behind them. She threw one of her knives directly to one of their necks, and that one fell quickly. The second one she held him and sliced his neck open with her other knife.
She left the third for Anton.
Rina took her knife out of the first ones neck.

message 58: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton had deflected every blow they thrust at him, but was still relieved as he saw the new sailor, Randall come to his aid. He quickly dispatched the third after he'd gotten the first two, and joined the fray again. He was still within earshot, so he shouted, "my thanks, sailor. Though I could've dealt with them myself

message 59: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments "I'm sure you could have, quartermaster", Rina shouted back, bowing her head.
She saw that most of the enemy crew had been killed or were prisoners, tied together in the middle deck of the ship.
Rina started to wander round, making her way down to the lower deck, the third deck that held what she did not expect.
"Holy shit".
The third floor revealed tons of gold, gold in baskets and barrels of gold.
"How did they get all this?", she whispered to herself, running her fingers through the gold. She was dazzled by all this gold. How the fuck had they gotten this much?
"QUARTERMASTER", Rina shouted.

message 60: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments ((You still on? I'm really bored and I have nothing to do))

message 61: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments ((Sorry my phone died and I was helping my brother pack XD ))

Anton scanned the deck with his eyes and saw that the battle was won. Pierre was talking to the merchant captain and the men all held the prisoners at sword point. Upon hearing his name shouted, he rushed below decks to find Randall standing in front of an enormous amount of gold.
"Bloody hell," Anton's eyes shone. He walked up beside the new sailor and sheathed his sword. "We're rich, mate. Damn. I didn't expect this much on a small ship like this."

message 62: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina was staring at the gold, wide eyed and in awe of it all before she heard the Quartermaster come down. Her first day and already this had happened, wow.
"Don't you think its just a bi dodgy? All this gold and little protection?", she asked, continuing to look at the gold. But this time she looked at the gold as if it was a threat, as if it held some sort of danger to it. She just didnt understand how little the crew had guarded the gold, for if she was in possession of this much she would make sure to go to extreme measured to keep it hidden for herself.

message 63: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth," was Anton's reply, blinded by the gold. He ran his fingers through the coins in one of the chests. "Come on, let's get this moved.

message 64: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina saw how completely blinded the Quartermaster was, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion and slight anger. She didnt agree with his statement.
"What a shit statement", she answered back. She moved over the barrels of gold, went behind them and suddenly was swarmed by more enemy crew members. One of them held Rina by the back of the neck. The one who held her sounded like a rough man, for when he spoke his voice was very deep.
"Ha, you aint a wise one are you, Quartermaster", the man spoke, pressing the sword he had closer to Rina's neck.
The other swarm of enemies were surrounding them and some of them were even sneaking to the upper decks.

message 65: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton jerked his hand to the hilt of his cutlass, but it was too late. bloody fool, he reprimanded himself. In less than a second he'd assessed the situation and seen the position of the sailors. He couldn't shout out, or they'd slit Randall's throat. Anton could typically tell if someone was bluffing, and that man didn't seem to be. "Let my sailor go," he said firmly, not that it was going to do much good.

message 66: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina looked towards the Quartermaster to see him try to talk to the other enemy. But it wasn't working.
Suddenly she felt the one who held her by her throat look down her top. He laughed and asked," Why 'ave you got a woman on your ship? Keep her and fuck her, do you?".
"I want a try", one of the others called out.
Rina's eyes widened, because she was slightly frightened and she was slightly afraid that Anton would now not allow her to be on the crew.
"Lets see that face of hers, cap'n", another called out. The captain removed her hat that shadowed most of her face to reveal her womanly features and her true face and identity.
Shit.
She looked towards Anton and widened her eyes, telling him to do something before both of them were killed.

message 67: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments A million thoughts shot through Anton's mind. A woman? nevertheless, he couldn't stop to think of that now, she was part of his crew and he had to do something before they were both killed. One of the other sailors strayed a little too close and in an instant Anton drew his sword, stabbed him through the gut and pulled the sailors pistol from his belt. He fired and hit the sailor holding Randall square in the forehead.

message 68: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Fuck. Shit. Fuck.
So many things were happening; she was no a woman to everyone, they were held captive and suddenly the enemy holding her suddenly let her go. She heard a thud and saw that he was no longer with them, dead.
Everyone stood still. Then suddenly the rest of the opposing crew shouted and charged at Anton and Rina.
Rina did exactly what she needed to do, she fought them: swiftly moving her body to kill them and stop them.

message 69: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton readied himself in the very short pause as everyone registered what happened. A smirk played at the corner of his lips as they started to charge.
Anton let out a roar and met them halfway, swinging his cutlass right and left. He felt the warm spray of blood on his face and knew he'd hit home.

message 70: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina continued killing, blood getting on her white shirt and her clothing. She dodged and pushed and kicked and punched and even bit occasionally. She heard the men cry out in pain. She bet they hadn't thought she was this good at standing up for herself.
Most of them were down, and a few of them just dropped their weapons and gave up, surrounding to them.
"Good choice, lads ",she nodded and grinned wickedly to the surrendering ones. She looked at the quartermaster and bowed her head in a slight appreciation," thank you".

message 71: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton nodded in response to her thanks. "It's the least I could do. Call Captain Voupain down here." He kept his pistol at the ready, in case any of them tried anything. He would talk to her later about the whole woman thing.

message 72: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments She nodded her head and did as she was told, thought she grabbed her hat to shield her face again. She ran to the upper decks and called," Captain Voupain! The quartermaster is on the lower deck and needs your assistance".
She looked over at their ship and then looked back at the prisoners on the second deck of the ship, helpless they were.

message 73: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments The captain looked up as he heard his name called. "Lead the way," he said to the sailor in his gruff voice.

Anton waited for them to get back down.

message 74: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina nodded and walked her way back down to the third deck, turning and walking down steps until they reached the third deck.
Some of the enemy men were still there, some of the gold was all over the floor since there had been a fight and an ambush. But most of was still there.
"Quartermaster, the captain for you", Rina stated.

message 75: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "Thank you, sailor," Anton said with a nod to her. "Captain, these men were lying in ambush for us. Before the crew search the rest of the ship I'd advise them to be on their guard."

The captain nodded. "Start to load the treasure on the Poseidon." He said. "I'll tell them."

message 76: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina stood there as she watched the prisoners, she stood quiet as she listened to the Captain and Quartermaster talk.
She watched the captain go back up to the other decks, and nodded slightly. Rina searched for rope, and found some. She tied the prisoners together, going through their hands and then wrapping it around their body. She started to collect the gold that had fallen on some of the floor to place them back in the barrels. But she just wanted to know what Anton was thinking right now, could she stay on the ship or not?!

message 77: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments After the captain was gone Anton helped tie up the prisoners.
"So, you never told me you were a woman," he said when they were done. "You know you're not allowed on the ship, right?" He leaned against the wall, looking at her.

message 78: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments "That's why I didn't tell you", she stated, raising an eyebrow at him. She knew she'd fucked up, well that other stupid pirate had fucked everything up for her.
"No one has to know I'm a woman, Anton", she reassured, she hoped that somehow this would make him think. "Look", she explained," I'm a good fighter. I can stick to myself. I won't cause any trouble", she convinced, practically trying to sell herself.

message 79: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton nodded. Everything she was saying was reinforcing what he'd thought. "Have you ever considered cutting your hair? It might make you more convincing. Smudge a little soot or something on that face, too, or the second we get into a storm and you lose that hat your cover is out. I'll keep your secret mate. You're a good sailor." He picked up one if the chests. "And I suppose your real name isn't Randall?"

message 80: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina shook her head and let out a little grin," My name is Rina, not Randall".
When she heard something about her hair her face immediately dropped. She pushed her dread hair forward and shook her head out," I'm not cutting my hair, mate".
But she was grateful that he would keep her secret so she thanked him," But thank you, for keeping my secret and letting me stay". She couldn't really pick up a case of gold, most of it was too heavy for her. So she picked up the medium sized bags of gold.

message 81: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "Rina, huh? Well, good to meet you." He gave a shrug. "Suit yourself. Makes sense I suppose. But if any of the crew find out they'll want to have a turn with you. Months out at sea without a woman can turn a man's mind." He started to carry the chest up on deck.

message 82: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Rina's face change in to a strong and serious expression, she mumbled to herself," They can try". If any man came at her with the intention of bedding her, she would slit their throats. That would be a kind death to them. She could do much worse.
She watched as he walked up towards the upper decks, and followed him, carrying two medium sized bags filled with gold. She wasn't completely weak.

message 83: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "You, help us with these chests," Anton told s gathering of five sailors as he passed.
"Aye aye, sir," they replied, turning and heading belowdecks. Before long they had it all unloaded and everyone went back on the Poseidon's Luck in preparation to move on.

message 84: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Everything had been collected by the crew, the gold had been transferred on to the Poseidon's Luck.
Once everyone was back on their ship, Pete limped up to her and asked," Gold, aye? I wonder why a ship like that 'ad a whole ton of gold". Rina looked at the gold on the ship, crossing her arms and saying," So do I, Pete. So do I".

message 85: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments They were way out of sight of the ship before Anton went to the stack of gold. It was his job to divide the gold to the crew. "Line up, men!" He shouted.

message 86: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments Of course when it came to gold the crew shut their mouths and lined up like they were in the army. Rina couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and shake her head slightly. She stood in line with Pete, seeing that he was cautious, like her, but was also extremely eager and fascinated about the gold.
"Gonna be rich we are", he said, giving a huge smile.

message 87: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton watched them, making sure they were all in order before starting to ration out the gold. For every sailor he gave a ration, he'd say, "great job today, mate." He finally got to Randall- no, Rina. He smirked slightly. "Great job, sailor."

message 88: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments When it came her turn she saw Anton smirk slightly, he wasn't doing that to other crew members. But the other crew members weren't secretly women.
She tilted her hat up slightly and smirked back," Thank you, Quartermaster". She gave him one moment of a look and then walked out of the line with her ration of gold.

message 89: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton was finally done. The officers, naturally, each got a larger ration, so he carried his into his cabin. After that he sought out Rina. He wanted to suggest something to her.

message 90: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments "Is this all I'll be doing on a ship?", she exclaimed.
Pete had given her a broom, and as she stated her question he let out a chuckle and said,"For now yeah". She watched him walk away and then did as she was told, sweeping. Again.

message 91: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton finally saw her, and laughed slightly at the outburst she gave Pete. He strode up closer. "Good morning, sailor. I've got a big of a proposition, if you're interested."

message 92: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments She had simply been minding her own business when all of a sudden the quartermaster came up to her with a proposition.
"You've peeked my interest, Quartermaster", she stated," What is this proposition you speak of?".

message 93: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "You were great in the fighting today, despite, well, you know. And you kept your head when you saw all that treasure: something I couldn't do. I was going to mention to the captain about you getting a promotion." Anton said to her.

message 94: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments One day and already a fight, gold and a promotion. Oh my god, this was the best.
Her eyes were wide and her lips were slightly parted," P-Promotion?", she stuttered.
She gulped down and licked her lips quickly," Wow thank you. I-I was just doing what I thought". She couldn't believe this was happening.

message 95: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments "Yeah, don't try to justify it all. I just wanted to know if you wanted it or not. Come with me if you do." Anton said. "I'll take you the captain."

message 96: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments "Of course I want it", she stated, she didn't even have to think twice about it. She was just shocked she even got the offer.
"Take the lead, Quartermaster", she smiled, somewhat wickedly.

message 97: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton laughed, hearing her tone. He walked to the captains quarters and rapped on the door. "Captain Pierre, I want to talk to you about something."
"Enter," was the reply.
Anton opened the door and went inside, motioning Rina to follow.

message 98: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments She followed without any hesitation, following him to the captains office and then waiting to enter that. It seemed like forever, her heart was beating and she was sweating slightly. Though it wasn't forever, it was only a few seconds. Then she followed Anton in to the captains office.

message 99: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments Anton explained everything to the captain, who nodded along.
"I agree. I haven't seen him in action, but I'll take your word for it. Give him an extra share, and well let him have more privileges. Now, leave, I'm busy."

message 100: by Niran (new)

Niran | 681 comments She stood there quietly and let Anton explain everything, since he knew the captain better than her. She nodded and thanked the captain, then left the captains office with Anton.
"What privileges?", she asked suddenly, only curious about what that meant.
