The book description says her "interest was peaked."
However, it SHOULD have said her "interest was piqued."
For me, correct word choice is a major factor in deciding to read a book, since there are so many options out there; this kind of kills it from the start.

This book is really not worth the time. I was confusing and boring at times and do not recommend it.
