I was surprised that this one didn't win a Stonewall as well. The dystopian setting and storyline was enjoyable, and even though I predicted the Allegiant-esque ending, I enjoyed getting there. My wife, who doesn't generally enjoy YA lit, also read this book and liked it.

I liked this one! It had enough plot twists to keep me interested, and I can definitely see how futuristic elements like the datastreams and advos are exaggerations of our current society. At first, I thought it was such an obvious interpretation of The Whipping Boy, that I wasn't very interested in the storyline, but about a third of the way through, the book got a little less predictable and more interesting. Although, the ending was a little rushed and, yes, sort of predictable. Overall, a fun and fast read.
