Another Day by David Levithan - Restarting November 18th 2016

Every day is the same for Rhiannon. She has accepted her life, convinced herself that she deserves her distant, temperamental boyfriend, Justin, even established guidelines by which to live: Don’t be too needy. Avoid upsetting him. Never get your hopes up.

Until the morning everything changes. Justin seems to see her, to want to be with her for the first time, and they share a perfect day—a perfect day Justin doesn’t remember the next morning. Confused, depressed, and desperate for another day as great as that one, Rhiannon starts questioning everything. Then, one day, a stranger tells her that the Justin she spent that day with, the one who made her feel like a real person . . . wasn’t Justin at all.

50%(view spoiler)[ I don't think I am a fan of books being retold from another perspective. While the writing is good it all just feels very repetitive. Rhiannon is sooo pathetic its making me annoyed, but I guess in her story A comes off as less obsessive as he did with his own narrative. (hide spoiler)]

Im on page 101/217. The only reason I can deal with this book is because I loved Every Day. Everything is so predictable but there is the 10% of reading that is new to me. But still predictable. This isnt going to get a rating near the one I gave Every Day, if I even push myself to the end of the book.

I like reading novellas with another character's POV, but this is a novel. I dont think I'll read another novel which is just written in another's POV from this experience.

I know, I'm never going go read another companion novel like this again. its just too repetitive. it would be different if it was say the pastors side of the story since it would be in the same time and world but much less overlap.

I think I would have enjoyed the pastors side of the story as well. Especially since it was hinted that he/she/it was also one of the few that change bodies daily. I wish we could have seen more of that. I hated how everyday ended. On page 130/217

(view spoiler)[ Yeah I liked how he was the opposite of A. Perhaps not evil but definitely more manipulative. Although if I was in their place I could see how you could easily become that way. It also sounded like he was recruiting people and that was cool. Ugh I want a true sequel! (hide spoiler)]

A was searching for others like him, and the pastor could have showed him, yet A declined, barely gave him a chance. A must have been born somehow. There is so much fantasy that Levithan could have written up for a sequel yet he doesn't want to. (hide spoiler)]

I finished it. Gave it 10 minuites more than I thought I would, but I don't regret all of it.

did he say he didnt want to write a sequel? I'm around half way point, just no time for reading lately since im in the middle of moving!

He said he didn't want to write a sequel, and this book isnt a continuation. But he didn't want to call this a novella since it makes it sound less important the Every Day. He didnt want to diminish Another Day or Every Day by publishing this. But it did, he built a tower that saw the whole world and left everyone in awe, but my adding more to the tower to make it taller, he only made it fall.

just a five minute drive away lol. really sucks that there will be no sequel considering the cliffhanger ending!

Just skip ahead. Thats what I recommend, there are more rhiannon based chapters there and the ending is a bit better than is was for Every Day. (I posted my review BTW.)

I'm upset that Rhiannon has such an unhealthy relationship. I'm mad at her for letting it be this way and for enabling Justin's behavior toward her. I'm sad for her because she doesn't even know what a good and loving relationship is supposed to be like because it's something she's never had. I'm happy that she had a great day and hoping that it will help her realize that she can do better than Justin.

Then there's the fact that I'm both happy and upset with A. It's good that he made her happy. But I hate that now her hopes will be crushed.

It's been about a year but in that year I've read about 100 books and had a baby so a lot of things slip my mind haha
