Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick

I finished this last week - it is a strange, strange book - which is not to say I didn't enjoy it. I may be the only person I know who has not seen Blade Runner - my daughter tells me that I must watch this film, and then the book will make more sense.
I enjoyed the whole strangeness of the future - the androids who escape slavery on the colonies and try to find a life on Earth. And the near total worship of all animal or insect life, since almost all was wiped out. I just don't get the electric (android) sheep. But why not? This is one of those books that you just take a leap of faith and go with it, I think.
A very interesting read.
Anyone else read this in August, or previously? What are your thoughts?

As an additional/alternative classic read, we are also reading This Perfect Day.
