I tried this and for a few minutes, I freaked out. Scepticism aside, it almost felt like everything was real haha especially the name description. Or maybe I'm just looking for a cheap way to cheer myself up lol

I bought a programme to help me make trailers and films in 3D, it was in our local cheapo store. I paid 99 centimes for it! I haven't used it so far, but I have promised to make a film with the photographs of the renovations of our cottage.

I have used the windows media program and found it relatively simple...even for blonde little me!

Marc Nash (sulci) I normally make my own trailers, but this one was a bit different. Have just commissioned a second video for another one of my short stories.

what you've said really hits the spot. Everything you've said about the traditional publishers went through my mind while my prof was talking. Naturally, I did't talk back since my purpose would be defeated. I'm not a member of any local workshops since I'm against it. I'm still an undergrad student with no literary piece ever produced that won any writing competitions. In short, I'm a nobody. I'll have a hard time figuring out how to make my way through the politics and bureaucracy inside the publishing industry. Second, just like in the recording industry, I was trying to avoid censorship and heavy editing by the in-house editor. I want my book to stay true to itself since I've worked so hard to perfect the stories, my writing style and the messages I incorporated in my stories.

No, my past life to present life description was spot on, it said I had carried a link from the spiritual world into the present and it's my duty to learn how to help people using my gift...

Every house I have lived in has had a ghost, and guess who they pick on to materialise before...yep, that would be me, and my eldest daughter has the 'gift' too!

With all the ghostly inspirations I am never stuck for a plot...The Menorah Murders was inspired by one of the more scary of my ghostly visitors, I was glad when I'd finished that book, if only so he would leave me alone! I didn't know the ghost from Adam, but I described him perfectly to my friend, who said I couldn't have possibly seen him that particular day as that was the day he was found dead in his home. He'd been that way for days!

I really wish I could do something like this for my book launch but I guess I don't have enough time or budget for this kind of prod work.

It's a long, hard slog, Nonong-for all of us. Just like it was for Stephen King, D H Lawrence and many other famous writers. We just have to keep the faith, and hope that one day our turn will come!

Believe in yourself, because without that belief you are lost! I can, and will succeed, because I believe in my ability to succeed, I believe in me!

Do you have a video camera, or video recording facility on your mobile telephone, make your own film, using friends with locations nearby relevant to your book - or stage re-enactments of certain chapters.

I am going to find the house featured in my book, The House of Death, it means a day trip to Nantes which is a round trip of 360kms unless I can find video footage, and if the owner of the footage is prepared to help out I will give them a plug in the books credits.

Oh don't get me started on book trailers! I have 20+ videos on my books on my You Tube channel (not all trailers, several are readings), but youtube and other file sharing sites are poor platforms for literature. I don't think book trailers do anything to help sales. I continue making them though because I enjoy doing it.

Those are really comforting words, Sarah. It's really ironic that I get more support from people that I recently got acquainted with... and from overseas. :) Thank you so much for the advise and help.

Your welcome, Nonong, we indie authors have to stick together, by joining forces we can move mountains! Perhaps you should take a look at IAN Independant Authors Network, there is a small joining fee but it seems to be the organisation to tag along with.

Like yourself, I too have to be careful with my money, being a single mum, since my husband died 7 years ago all I have is my pension, and any royalties I am lucky enough to get from my writing, which to date isn't much I'm afraid, but I live in hope of one day making enough to pay for my daughter's education, should she have the good fortune to pass the necessary examinations and make it through to University.

I want to be able to give her the chance my father refused me!

An unfortunate situation, but understandable. I keep my writing to myself for this very reason; I feel that most people who ask about it only do so to criticize, and I don't need that.

Fewer people than might be imagined are truly fit to be parents, and those of us subjected to the unfit are left to deal with the damage. Regarding my own family, we sure weren't the Waltons. It's tough, but try to find positive people to fill your life and cling to them.

I haven't met my mom actually. So can you be my foster mom instead? haha It's a tough world for writers. It's ironic how the world progressed through the contributions of writers in different fields, yet everyone else never gave proper credit to the wonderful craft of reading and writing. But I guess tough luck and writing sometimes go hand-in-hand. It's not fair but bad conditions sometimes produce the best and lasting literary pieces.

I wish all the best for you and your daughter, Sarah. I had a shot in the university through the collective effort of my friends' parents and some kind benefactors. My father expects me to follow a traditional life -- finish school, get a job and start a family of my own. He never considers my personal plans to pursue a career in the academe, in the literary field or in music, so I don't get much support from him. For now, I'm skipping school since I'm having a hard time dealing with my finances. I can afford to pay for the tuition but my monthly allowance can't support me anymore. After I finish this book project, I'm going to find work while working on my next book then save enough money to continue my studies.

I wish you well in your search for work, Nonong. Life can be cruel, giving you the chance of education whilst not providing you with the money to live on.

When I was sixteen I wanted to be a journalist, but my father refused me the chance to further my education. For him educating girls was a waste of time, effort and money, as they get married, get pregnant and stop work! If I'd disobeyed him he would not have been pleased!

I wish sometimes I'd have had the courage to go against his wishes, he would have got over it eventually. It's too late now at my age so now I content myself with my writing.
