That's great Kathy, very kind and I'm sure it will be good for publicising your book too. It certainly is a frenzy - there was an event last night with 49 book giveaways as well as the book that was being launched which also had a Kindle Touch as the prize. I'll check-in on the night (19th May) and hope to see you on there too.

Anna Chant | 5 comments I have a new release! It's the latest in the Women of the Dark Ages series, although like all the series it's a stand alone novel.

The Saxon Marriage The Saxon Marriage (Women of the Dark Ages, #4) by Anna Chant relinks.me/B0733BF67K

In 929 to seal an alliance between the ancient West Saxon dynasty and the new royal family of Saxony, Eadgyth, a troubled Wessex princess is sent to Otto, the young hope of Saxony, bred for the battlefront. Despite the enemies on the borders, the union appears to be a success. But as Otto prepares himself to take the throne of Germany, Eadgyth finds there are greater enemies away from the battlefields - even in the very heart of the family.

Hi! Be great to meet some of you at #picturebookclub when we come to Waterstones in Exeter on Tues evening. Local picture book author Clare Helen Walsh will be talking about her successful book The Aerodynamics of Biscuits which is not only a brilliant picture book but has been turned into a reading scheme and a stage play!
This is your opportunity to hang out in a bookshop after hours and eat biscuits 😉. Details www.fionabarker.co.uk

News coming thick and fast today. One of our founder members, Elizabeth Ducie's new novel is released today.

Deception! is the second in the series of Suzanne Jones thrillers, set in the sometimes murky world of international pharmaceuticals. It is the follow-up to the prize-winning Counterfeit!.

The ebook is available from today at the special launch price of just 99p. So if you head over to Amazon or your other preferred distribution channel right now, you can grab yourself a bargain.

I've downloaded my copy and wish Elizabeth every success with the new book.

Launch Parties...

The official launch date is Tuesday 19th September and on that day, Elizabeth tells me she is throwing not one, but two launch parties.

She and her team will be online between 11.30 and 15.30 BST for a virtual launch featuring games, raffles, cake and fizz (although the latter two might only be virtual). Prizes include not only copies of her novels, but also a variety of books donated by her generous writerly friends. Keep an eye of Facebook for more details in the next couple of weeks.

That evening there is a gathering in Chudleigh Parish Church at 7pm BST for music, readings, cake and fizz (and this time, the latter two will be real). If you would like to join Elizabeth for that event, drop her a line: elizabeth@elizabethducie.co.uk

P.J. Reed (pjreed) Presenting… The Dark Tales of Witherleigh
Day Two – The Washroom Incident

Richard Radcliffe is sent from the London diocese to recover in the quiet rural village of Witherleigh, Devon. He hopes the slower, simpler pace of life in rural Devon will be a fresh start for him.
However, Richard realizes that the quieter the village is, the deadlier its intentions as he becomes caught up in a paranormal fight between good and evil.

Michelle Kenney | 8 comments Hi everyone
Ian very kindly accepted my application to join this group so I just thought it might be nice to introduce myself.
My name is Michelle Kenney, l live in South Devon and I’ve just signed a trilogy deal with HarperCollins HQDigital to develop a new YALit series entitled ‘Book of Fire’.
The first book is just out and with the second book coming next year, I’d love some local support, especially as the entire series is set in a dystopian Exeter! Here’s the link and the blurb:

‘Life outside the domes is not possible. At least that's what outsiders are told.
Twins Eli and Talia shouldn't exist.
They're Outsiders.
Their home is a secret. Their lives are a secret. Arafel is a secret.
An unexpected forest raid forces Talia into a desperate mission to rescue her family while protecting the sacred Book of Arafel from those who would use it as a weapon. As Talia and her lifelong friend Max enter the dome, she makes some unexpected discoveries and an ally – in the form of rugged Insider August – that will change the course of her life for ever. She’ll stop at nothing to save her family but will she sacrifice her heart in the process?
The Fire Sermon meets Gladiator in this brilliant YA debut.’

There is a Book of Fire community on Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/BookofFireMK/ , Twitter at @mkenneypr, and Book of Fire can be found in many outlets including Amazon at http://bit.ly/BookOfFire

Being a debut writer is quite nerve-wracking and I love connecting with #bookoffire readers. If you have a spare two minutes this weekend, do pop over to any of the above platforms - likes & shares very welcome - and if you fancy a fast paced, adventure story why not check out the book?
Thanks so much for reading,
Mich 🌻

During our #devonbookhour on Monday we were joined by Nigel Hicks Photography and chatted about his latest book Beautiful Devon . I asked Nigel to send me some more details and he shared the following with me:

"This is a short and heavily photo-led book that really is a series of photo essays showing off some of the most beautiful parts of Devon, and intended as a memento to the county, for both residents and visitors. You can see sample pages at http://www.nigelhicks.com/beautiful_d... …. A photo of the front cover is attached. The book goes on sale 1st March, and will be available through all book shops, both high street and online, including my own publishing website at http://www.aquaterrapublishing.co.uk/... ….

My previous book was Wild Southwest: the Landscapes and Wildlife of Southwest England (http://www.nigelhicks.com/Wild_Southw... …). As for myself, I'm a highly experienced photographer/writer, based in south Devon, though my work takes me all over the world.

Beautiful Devon will be my 20th book (I think!), though I've contributed photography to many more. You can see a lot of my work at http://www.nigelhicks.com . I think that's probably enough for now, but if you have any queries don't hesitate to get in touch. You can contact me by e-mail at nigel@nigelhicks.com
