I was also swept away by this story. I was completely engrossed and I'm looking forward to reading more of Piccirilli's work.

I'm a bit past the halfway mark, but really enjoying this novel. My first by this author, but won't be my last. It reads as though William Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor got it on in the bed of a beater pickup truck and produced this gem as a result. Love the prose style and how each scene is its own little vignette.

I've only read a few of his so far, but that is exactly how I feel about his writing--it really is powerful and takes you away, mentally. I can't wait to get to some other titles!
