I understand. I read Harry Potter in order one good time ... but now, I can only read one or two at a time. I haven't started the first Gone book yet, but I have it. And a series must be really good for me to want to read it. But one trilogy I love is the Selection.
I like series the most. I like seeing the characters develop and reading more about the series, especially if I like the series. In trilogies, a lot of the time the second book isn't as good as the first and the last book is bad :/
I seem to like I romance books better if they're a stand a lone, paranormal or fantasy books better in a series, and I like dystopian better in trilogies

Just read the review for Selection. It sounds good. I might read it after my long list of books To read. :P
I like your set up Miss Amazingness. It makes sense.
But ... don't you get tired of the same story over and over? It seems like the first half of the books are repeating the ends of the previous books.
Sorcha, I have the book ... but I have so many other books to read that I don't know when I'll ever get to it. I think I want to at least find the second book before I begin the first one.
Also, how do you all feel about buying a whole series or trilogy before even starting it?

It depends....a lot of books backtrack to remind the reader of what happens in the previous book and that can get annoying. But sometimes it's necessary so you don't forget what happened. I dont like it overdone, though. And then there are some books that don't backtrack at all. I guess it all depends on how the book ends. If it ends with a cliff hanger, sometimes repeating what happened in the first book can be necessary

Yeah. I get what you mean by the second book in a trilogy can not be as good a the first. I like it when in trilogies the narrator can change. Have you read The forest of hands and teeth by Carrie Ryan. Ahhh I love that trilogy so much.
I read the first book...I didn't like it XD

I've heard of the book and even thought about picking it up once, but never did.

Okay, that makes sense. I just want to be able to keep going and just read through.

So let me know how you think about this subject. Am I the only one that feels this way?
